Senior ( lass History J In the fall of 1 53, we 32 lowly, meek, and humble Freshmen eagerly climbed the steps of Lone Tree High. The class consisted of 17 girls and 15 boys. Its members were: Gayle Nelson, Geneva Wieland, Kenny Murdock, Joyce Johnston, Shirley Lenz, Mary Pechman, Eunice Lenz, Lester Wieland, David Kline, Lavon Eden, Daryl Hirt, Jerry Musser, Rosemary Hospodarsky, Cora Ramsey, Gerald Yakish, Nancy Jarrard, Pat Lenz, Mary Flake, Charlotte Sanders, Janice Eden, Yvonne Hora, Don Krueger, Kay Musser, Nancy Hall, Tom Dawson, John Hudachek, Dale Nelson, Marvin Hotz, Ernest Hall, Bob Polman, Verlyn Hayes, and David Kirkpatrick. Only two of the present Seniors started at Lone Tree in the primary class. They were Mary Flake and David Kline. The highlights of this year were initiation and our first formal homecoming dance. We all nearly burst with pride when our float won second prize. Its theme was It's in the Bag. Does this bring any memories? In the Sophomore year, the events included decorating the gym for the 1954 Homecoming and again winning second prize on our float. Already we were act- ive in football, basketball, and all other extra-curricular activities. We lost one classmate, Gayle Nelson, who transferred to U-High. At the beginning of our Junior year, we discovered that we had four empty seats which had once been filled. These had belonged to Joyce Johnston, Ernie Hall, Cora Ramsey, and Rosemary Hospodarsky. We also gained one classmate, Evelyn Connolly, who joined us later in the year. Our Junior class play, entitled ’’Phantom of the High School, and the 1956 Prom were two important activities this year. The theme for our prom was Neptune's Court. Everyone agreed that it was equally clever and pretty. As the pages on the calander were torn off and forgotten, we found ourselves sitting at the senior desks in September, 1956. Again we had lost classmates. They were Shirley Lenz, Kay Musser, and Nancy Jarrard. Later Bob Polman and Tom Dawson departed from the class. We presented our final class play, called The Babysitter ; and it was a great success. Of course, we enjoyed ourselves tremendously at the 1957 Prom, which the Junior Class sponsored for us. Little did we realize that on December 21, 1956, we would be seeing the class- rooms of L. T. H. S. for the last time. We Seniors are experiencing something that we hope no other class will ever have to experience. We are leaving a school that no longer stands and also our home room located in the fire station. As our memorable high school days dwindle, we are storing away precious memories that we have shared throughout the four years. Now we are eagerly looking forward to the day we 23 Seniors will proudly march down the aisle for Dur diplomas.
