Mr. Herbert Hayes—Superintendent, physics teacher, and Senior class sponsor. His home town is New Albin, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State Teachers College and received his Master of Arts degree from the State University of Iowa. He has taught for three years in Lone Tree. Previous to his teaching here, he taught at Ayrshire, Winthrop, Clemons, and Packwood, making a total of 26 years of teaching. Mr. Dean Housel—High school principal, football and girls' basketball coach, and teacher of general mathematics, geometry, and algebra. He is also a sponsor of the Sophomore class. Iowa City, Iowa, is his home town. He graduated from the State University of Iowa. He taught at Webb, Iowa, for one and one-half years before coming to Lone Tree, where he has taught for four years. Mrs. Mabel Brown--English and dramatics teacher, girls' basketball chaperone, library advisor, and a Sophomore sponsor. Her home towns are Conesville, Iowa, and Clarinda, Iowa. She graduated from the State University of Iowa, and Iowa State College. She has taught at Lone Tree for three years. Previous to this, she has taught at Iowa City, Conesville, Nichols, and Iowa State College. Mr. Robert Dennis—Vocational agriculture teacher and a sponsor of the Junior class. His home town is Mechanicsville, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State College and has taught for four years in Lone Tree. Mrs. Jane Bauerle—Home economics teacher and a sponsor of the Junior class. Her home town is Ames, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa State College and has taught for two years in Lone Tree. Mr. Robert James—Boys' basketball and baseball coach, assistant football coach, govern- ment, economics, world history, and United States history teacher, and a Freshman class sponsor. His home town is Muscatine, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State Teachers College and has taught one year in Montlcello and in Lone Tree for two years. Mrs. Lois Brucher—Grade school and high school vocal music instructor, general science teacher, and a Freshman sponsor. Her home town is Fort Madison, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College and has taught in Davenport for one year and in Lone Tree for one year. Mrs. Julie Pipho—High school commercial teacher and a Senior class sponsor. Her home town is Cedar Falls, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College and has taught for one year in Lone Tree. Mr. Ronald Donnelson—Band instructor, English teacher, and a Freshman class sponsor. His home town is Clarinda, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State Teachers College and has taught at Walnut, Iowa, for three years and at Lone Tree for one year. 13
