SENIORS OF 49 When the school year of 48 49 opened sixteen Seniors en rolled A week later two more arrived and second semester two more arrived to complete the 11st The officers elected for the class for the year were Bob Cypert Pres1dent Jack Word Vice President and Mary Cypert Secretary Treasurer The Senior Class held a combination baby show and one act play for the benefit of the lunch room They also entered in the Carnival Queen Race with Dorothy Clowdus and Bob Cypert as candidates for queen and king but they were defeated by the lowly seventh and eighth grades with Blanche Cypert as queen and Arlxe Beane as king On Sunday December 18 Mrs Nina Young the class spon sor gave a Christmas party for the Seniors at her home A deli Afterward the class went to church The Senxor Class Play was presented Ln the last week of April and the Junior Senxor Banquet was on the night of May 6 It had a western theme The boys were dressed in jeans and the girls in gingham dresses Gradu tion exercises were June 1 The class was fortunate 1n having a kind and helpful sponsor Mrs Nina Young who with her many duties as teacher took time out to help with the many difficulties that arose for the graduating Seniors The class color is red the class flower is the rose The class motto is While we live let us live 12 U 1 0 - - 1 . : I ' l : 1 I I 1 f D 1 ' ' . . . .- cious Christmas dinner was served, and then gifts were exchanged. . . . . i 5 . . . 9 I Y . : . . - ' , ll ' ' ' ID ' i 0
