Members of the Senior Class and other guests present this evening: Once again it is time to greet you in behalf of the juniors and bid you welcome on this joyous occasion. The Indian of tradition was a man of few words. To him, man's patterns of discipline and behavior gave evidence of his loyalty and sincerity. Like the Red Man, I shall speak but briefly, yet I trust that you may find in this evening's hospitality sufficient evidence of this high esteem in which we have always held you. And on the eve of your departure, I wish for you the simple joys that any good Indian would wish for his trusted friends. May your canoes be swift and your paths be safe, may your arrows be straight and your victory sure, may the smoke curl always from your pipe of peace, and may the tomahawk of the enemy never be buried in your neck. Members of the junior Class, it is with sincere appreciation that I speak for the Seniors in response to your generous welcome. YVe feel deeply grateful to the juniors and their sponsors for the long hours spent in preparation for this occasion. This banquet shows evidence of the ingenuity, the cooperation, and diligence of those who will be the Seniors in 1952. On behalf of my class I congratulate you on this splendid achievement. YVe are indeed fortu- nate to be your guests.
