Indians do not make words with letters, but they know how to send messages and tell stories with pic- tures. These pictures are called symbols. The Indians portray one of the most glorious and splendid eras for periodl of American history, and we are proud to use one of their highest symbols of trust and respect, the Chief, to typify our superintendent, principals, and Board of Trustees. We give you, with all the pride any Indian could have, our Administration. The bow-and-arrow is used to signify, not that any of our teachers use force by any means, but that our faculty is one of courage and bravery, that they guide us through the battleground of our school-life, and that they help us to as- pire for the highest things in life.
