In a very special way I shall always remember you, the class of '57, for we came to L.B,I. together. These have been three wonderful years, have they not, years filled with the wonderful blessing of God. You now are going forth into the most honoured privilege upon earth, the ministry of the gospel of the grace of God. We are going to keep praying for you as you go, for it is exceedingly important that you continue in the things which you have learned. Because of the present circumstances in the Near East, you do not know how long you will have to proclaim this glorious message. Thus, may God give you grace to walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord, This is our prayer for you, and we are counting upon you to pray thus for us. Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving. As we look back upon our 1956 Choir Tour, we are gratefully conscious of the lord's goodness to us. We found that our first weekend tour, which was to Toronto, proved to be iust a taste of what was in store for us later on. March 15 found us starting out on our ll day tour, which included concerts at Oshawa, Peterborough, Ottawa, Montreal, Lachute, Kingston, Moravia, N.Y., Geneva, N.Y., Elmira Heights, N.Y., Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Beamsville and Simcoe. Highlights of our tour included a visit to the new library at Oshawa, the wax museum in Montreal, a guided tour of the St. Lawrence Seaway Proiect at Kingston, the Glass Museum at Corning, and a visit to the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, where the choir was requested to sing in the Hall of Fame. Each choir member enioyed immensely the warm welcome with which we were received and the fine fellowship in the homes. Each day in the bus we had a blessed time studying the books of Philippians and Colossians. The fellowship both with one another and with God will long be remembered as the main highlight of the entire tour. Our God certainly proved to us once again that in ourselves we can do nothing, but in His power all things are possible. As we sang, it was certainly . . with thanksgiving unto Him. 1 M.-P4 A T151 f2fE?3'f3 ,fg? :.l1-, gl Y ' : jf' Fl 52.223552 ci, if . . The academic introduction was made most effectively by the president, Dr. Gannett, and by tests which were introduced by Mr. Koksma. ln the days that followed, events included introduction to the faculty, breakfast hike, get acquainted social, initiation picnic. All this concluded with the fall banquet at which Mr. R. E. Thompson of Detroit was guest speaker. The big event has come and gone, but the memory lingers on. How we wish that you all could have shared in the great blessings that we Seniors had at Elim Lodge the weekend of October 14th, 1956! The maiority of our class lmarried couples, tool travelled by car to our destination where we had a time of fun, frolic and fellowship - with each other and with our Lord. A specially ordered Indian summer topped off the weekend. The primary spiritual emphasis which we had greatly desired our weekend to have was evidenced in two ways. First was the heart-warming ministry of the Word by Rev. Martin O. Wedge of Wortley Road Baptist Church, london, and by our own Dr. Gannett. Then the working of the Word manifested itself in our lives in an unexpected opportunity of witnessing to the students at Kingsway College there at Elim, which resulted in several decisions for the lord. Now we Seniors are reioicing in the privilege of going forward with Him as Conquerors through Christ. has Puri time employment S fllflill gngnn l G Cams: 3 Jesus Hexgwm Q 5 9 K , .Ex m I Mag: f wig- ik Q X , .',,. These persons all had graduated from our favorite school some- time between 1939 and 1956. This was Homecoming week-end ! Why did folks come home ? For several reasons, to visit again with former schoolmates, to reminisce about dorm experiences etc., to beat the students in some games at Tech's gym lStudents won, in spite of the extra effort on the part ofthe gay forties !1, to see for themselves how God is blessing L.B.I. and T.S., to tell what great things the Lord is doing for them, and to see and hear once again a much-loved former teacher, Dr. .lohn R. Dunkin. Yes, these things really happened. The Alumni as a whole were thrilled over the news of the school's associate membership into the American Accrediting Association of Bible Schools and Bible Colleges. The faculty, staff and students were more than happy to hear of souls coming to know our Saviour all over the world because of God's working through our grads. The Lord met with the homecomers and students that week-end. Dr. Dunkin's emphasis was, Thus saith the Lord . . . Thus saith the Lord, let not the wise man glory his wisdom . . . but let him glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me . . . And again, . . . if in the land of peace . . . they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan? Discouragement is one of the devil's greatest weapons. On Sunday afternoon, . . . His compassions fail not. How great is God's love! How great should be ours? We asked the Lord to make the activities of the week-end to be glorifying to Him. We are sure He did. lf you were not here - we wish you had been. Maybe next year! Dr. Dunkin homecoming weekend M fwxv, mkskfkf christmas concert JESUS CHRIST, the same yesterday, today and forever, are the few words which could sum up the Christmas message given December 14, 1956, at Sir Adam Beck Collegiate. We were made to realize anew as we saw the implications of this message to us today that not only was Christ born, but that He died, was buried and rose again. The true message of Christmas was thus again brought clearly into focus. 1521 'im K DR. ALDEN GANNETT, PRESIDENT LONDON BIBLE INSTITUTE, LONDON, ONT. Scott, one of God's choicest servants, went to be with the Lord she served and by whose precious blood her soul had been saved for eternity. To many students and graduates of the London Bible Institute and Theological Seminary the name Miss Scott was almost synonymous with the name ofthe school, so much did she seem to be a part of the work and so great was her contribution to the school and to each individual student. Our beloved Registrar and teacher will ever be a chal- lenge to those who knew her. Her life was an example of what God can do through a person wholly yielded to Him. For what Miss Scott accomplished she did not in her own strength, but by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ who ruled and reigned within. Miss Scott could say with the Apostle Paul, l have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, l have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day. We praise God for every remembrance of His devoted servant who has gone to be with Him which is far better . ln remembrance of this one we dedicate our Ambassador 1957. Adams, Jack ,... Holding Forth the Word of life The Lord Gave the lllord: Great was the Company of those that Published It. -Ps. 68:11 In the time when these words were written the means of publishing must have been very limited indeed. How different today! What a marvellous opportunity we have as modern communication and reproduction processes are available to us. And with these modern facilities the challenge of growing literacy the world over is before us. The printed Word, in the language of the people, is one of the most potent and effective mediums through which the great missionary commission can be carried out today. Our printing firms are always glad to have a share in the production of Christian literature and supplies.
