FACULTY The faculty of Central are one of the most important parts of school life. They can turn an otherwise boring, run-of-the- mill course into an educational adventure. They can make a terrible day seem ten times better with a compliment or toast of encouragement. Of course, during exam times, teachers can turn into the most horrible people ever imaginable - especially to the unprepared student after that seemingly endless killer exam. However, teachers, like all the rest of us, are human too. They have interests and hobbies that keep them busy after school hours, and on those warm, sunny June days they too would much rather be out in the sun. We asked the faculty for their feelings about teaching at Central, their interests and general comments. We were amazed at the results . . . . . . Central is a special school to me since it reminds me of my old high school. They say you can ' t go home again but in a way I feel I have - Mr. Pauli . . . Although this is a very busy year for Mr. Peter Shaw, he is enjoying it immensely. The variety is very stimulating. The only drawback is that I miss full-time involvement with Central students. They ' re great! ... A partial transcript of one of the English classes of the man known as Avid Jay Polly (Hairdresser): ... blah, blah, blah . . . (He is also known as Mr. Paul) . . . Other than the major heart failures, minor heart failures, and heart failures, Central students make teaching a very rewarding experience. - Mr. Cowx . . . Some en- couraging words from Mr. Reinhard: Set a goal for your life, find a way to reach it and success is inevitable. . . . And finally this from Mr. Kraemer: Mutual respect between staff and students makes Central a place where teaching and learning are enjoyable experiences.
