UNDERGRADS The undergrads: the most important group ot people in the school. What is an undergrad ? An undergrad is anyone in grades nine through twelve who is returning to Central to continue their education - in other words, anyone who is not graduating. These are the people that make up at least three quarters of the school ' s population and have the most influence on the activities and events that occur in the school. The undergrad years are something shared by everyone, and an experience that no one will ever forget, especially if they were spent at London Central. The 1982-83 school year at Central was as fulfilling and exciting as any previous or future year. For many of us, the first day of school was like any other. However, for a large group of people it was a brand new exciting experience: the first day of high school. As the new crop of ninth graders tried to find classrooms, meet and remember all those names and faces, and get used to the absence of recesses, the rest of the undergrads reflected on growing a year older. By October, school life was settling in and the undergrads had become their usual closeknit group. The grade elevens proved their force by winning the tug-of- war contest over every other class, in- cluding the thirteens. Successfully in- tegrated into high school life, a number of grade tens decided to give a new dimension to the words short hair . For the twelvers it was a year of partying and living it up, in preparation for the studious life of grade thirteen. For all the Central undergrads it was a year for new faces as the ex-Beck students greeted a new school, but by June everyone had suc- cessfully mingled to form an extra-special body of Central students. As the school year draws to a close, faces begin to look towards the sun of summer, but also the upcoming fall. For some, it will be the final year, when responsibilities set in and seriousness takes hold. For others it will be another year to meet people and make friends, as well as implant their feet deeper into the Central soil. And for some it will be a new experience as the first year of high school begins. Whatever the new year brings, the effects of this year will always be felt and the memories filed away in that great case of undergrad years. BpS i «r Wm E ' A J iff Amm W ft 1 OjSRf w
