Despite the poor turnout for the team, the players that did play showed spirit and determination in all of the games we played in. The and 6 record does not tell of the close games against Beck and Banting, nor does it tell of the many proud moments the players as a team experienced on the field. It is only hoped that more people will try out for the team next year, and that the string of losses will sharpen a yearning for vic- tory. As for this year ' s team, we can be proud in saying that we did the best we could under the circumstances, and that is all anyone could have asked for. In closing, I can safely say this season has meant more in terms of fond memories gained, then in games lost. Best wishes to the Senior Football Ghosts of ' 82. The 1981-82 Senior Boys Basketball team had a very suc- cessful season, surprising all of their critics. The combination of an improving front line, experienced guards and excellent coaching enabled the Senior Ghosts to compile a 28-13 won-loss record, including a 9-3 record in a very tough Western Division. Among the team ' s accomplishments this year were winning the consolation championships at the Brock University tournament and the Athlete ' s Foot tournament in Sarnia. The highlight of the year was a four game sketch in which the team won the W.O.S.S.A. A. A. championship, giving Mr. Peterson his first W.O.S.S.A. title in 17 years of coaching and qualifying the Ghosts for the All-Ontario championships. The team made it to the quarter-finals of the All-Ontario cham- pionships before being eliminated. The team would like to thank the many loyal fans for their incredible support throughout the season, and the six John Makaran Co-Captain graduating player ' s wish next year ' s team as much success as had in this season, and more! ! Steve Hanson Naeem Merchant (Co-Captains) JUNIOR BOYS ' VOLLEYBALL Central ' s Junior Boys ' Volleyball team performed relatively well this year. We finished the season with a 6 and 8 record. Inconsistency was one of our biggest problems. We had only two players from the previous year on the team. By next year some of the new talent will be developed and the team looks forward to a prosperous season. A special thanks to Mr. Wood for putting up with all of us. Allen Newman SENIOR BADMINTON TEAM The Senior Badminton team had a very successful season. The ' A ' team placed third in the West division allowing our girls and boys singles, girls doubles and mixed doubles to play at Conference. Al Farquhar placed third at Conference and fourth at WOSSA. Jane Vincent and Naeem Merchant placed second at Conference and third at WOSSA. The ' B ' team had a good season with the boys singles and doubles making it to Conference. The Junior team had Carrie Portis taking second in girls singles at WOSSA. Our thanks go to Mr. Pauli and Mr. Blosdale for their time and coaching which made this season such a success. A special thanks also goes to Craig Evans, a student at U.W.O. who volunteered his time to help coach us. Suzette Thomson
