SO YOU THOUGHT Like a voice heard but not comprehended, so you could not comprehend the wind which tossed you about, A leaf fallen from a tree . . . Driven by the wind, shaped incessantly by its power, constantly changing in every way. So you vainly channelled your energy into mastering the force which markedly shaped your life. At the same time. . . Observing, Other leaves hopelessly tossed about, each shaped in their own unique way . . . Observing, Different leaves brought together by the wind, for a mere instant of time, then, sadly parted by the wind, never to come together again . . . so you went along, knowing not the direction you would take, nor what you were searching for, The cold wind opened the book which sat upon the table, page by page . . . So when you blindly thought you had just mastered the wind, and could finally come to rest in the place the wind had carried you, A hurricane came along and, swept you away . . . Leaving you only with the memory of the hollow sound of leaves . . . scraping along the pavement. Mais, c ' est la verite. C ' est la dure verite q ' uon s ' appele la vie Mais, c ' est la vie . . . C ' est ma vie. John Makaran
