The guest house and its furnishings are a gift of Mrs. J. H. Phillips of Carthage. The Fair Cottage is the new home of the Fisher family. Mr. E. C. Scurlock, Mr. R. W. Fair, and Mrs. J. H. Phillips ioin Bishop A. Frank Smith in the Dedi- cation Services on October 17. The guest house and two new teacherages were dedicated and Fair Hall was consecrated, dedication service Mr. Scurlock presents the school with a picture of Bishop A. Frank Smith to be displayed in the Fine Arts Building. Guests visit one of the new teacher- ages during open house. Board of Trustees lunch at the new Guest House. As students qualify, they are re- warded by election to membership in this society, and are asked to uphold the motto, Fellowship and Service, to further stimulate interest in college dramatics. Elmer Baxley, president PHI THETA KAPPA The Rho Chapter of Phi Theta Kap- pa, national scholarship society of iunior colleges, was organized at Lon Morris College on January 18, 1929. It was the first chapter to be organ- ized in Texas. The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to promote scholarship, leadership, and a feeling of fellowship among its members. To become a member, a student must attain a scholarship average of 92 and must possess qualities of leadership and character which are above reproach.
