Science Club Curiosity Shop Whether at Ryon Park or Madonna Inn, the Science Club always took an interest in the hows and whys of things. This year, with Mrs. Jana Hunking as an advisor, the Sci- ence Club was under the able leadership of President George Vega , Other officers were Vice-President Ed Dover, Secretary Joe Mendez and Treasurer Eric Bishop. The Science Club had more activities than ever before, including a bus trip to Cal Poly College and many field trips.

This year, LJHS had the first Young Historians Club in its history. Young Historians Wa Back When With the History of Lompoc as a theme, the newly- formed Young Historians Club set out to learn all they could about Lornpoc's past. With Mr, Torn Pickering as an advi- sor, the Historians visited places such as Mount Figueroa and La Purisima Mission, Approximately twenty members formed this active club which was under the leadership of Walter Porr as president, Mark Hall as vice-president and Bret Armstrong serving as secretary. The 1972 Spartan Staff proudly welcomes the Young Historians, a new and active club at LJHS. Officers for the Young Historians were Mark Hall, Walter Porr, Bret Armstrong Ken and David Helm . ,-'ff 1
