It is a privilege to express my sincere apprecia- tion to all who have co-op rated in bringing our school to its present high standing. 'l'o the members of a splendid student body, to an outstanding faculty, to a progressive Board of Trustees, to a sincere body of parents, I extend the tltanks of a united and grateful high school for your unfailing loyalty and devotion. Seniors of IYISS: As high school students. you have been giyen the cltance to learn to liye well, Oppor- tunities of school life brought upon you definite re- sponsibilities in relation to the existing social order. Take an active part in the affairs of your community. Be truly patriotic with that concept of human rela- tionship which seeks the common good. React toward society in a manner which involves the idea that you are a part of a larger group and. therefore. should maintain an attitude satisfactory not alone to yourself but also to the whole group. And remember that. as it was only because of a unitezl effort that this book became a reality. just so will cooperation help you to do the big thing about which you dream. I can think of no more fitting farewell to you than to express the hope that the records of time will show that each member of the t'lass of 1938 has been humble before God, loyal to ltis country, true to his home, and honest with himself. Sincerely your friend. CHARLICS W. I,OCliWUUD Superintendent
