bisfzioz Diaz j H FHESHMAN Traveling over the hot sands of the desert, we greenhorns finally reach- ed our destination. After a brief pause we managed to hitch our horses to the wagon and tread a path up to 'Ye Old L'--and we proceeded to clean it. We have faced many trials and tribulations in our lives, but this ini- tiation business was almost the worst. We thought perhaps we could get even with our sophomore rivals by finding a panful more of gold in the river, however, we felt better after refreshments. . Trying to be neighborly, we called our new friends, the sophomores, over on a friendly basis to share tasty vittals with us. Tarnation! Today we had to come out of the hills, and act civilized. We dressed up all pretty like for the seniors, and gave them a little tea party, but afore nightfall we were back abidin' in our hills. Our class of people being socialites-we appeared in several activities and band doings. S OPH OM ORE We weren't trying to be malicious, but accordin' to tradition it was our turn to be mean to these new pardners. 'We were pretty nice to them afterwards, we passed around the jug and they took their fill-and speaking of refreshments, we sold cokes at some of the games. Again, we tidied up to lcok our best for the Fall Frolic . We were steppin' out right smart in the society world now, being as how this was our dance, the first dance of the school year. We were also signed up in the band again, and we got mighty ram- bunctious over some G. A. A. affairs. JUNIOR 'The Play's the Thing' tall us 48ers heardj so we tried our hand at it and came up with Strictly Formal . We certainly are the one's for sports 'n things. This time we came a iuffin' in 'ust in time to sasha over and receive the interclass tro h and 1 , 1 , , y, what s more, we rung up five new interclass records. i Our creative talent busted out all over the Nlemorial building, too. Of course we don't deserve all the credit, we just sorta borrowed an idea from our southern friends. You know that ball we had-well, we had it lookin' like Southern Gardens. Had a nice time, too. SENIOR Our actin' ain't nothin' special4we just sort of appeared natural in Crazy House , but seein's the people liked us, we didn't feel too queer. Well, well, never was so surprised! Hardly thought 1'd ever see so many relatives wanderin' around. Nope-guess they weren't relatives after' all-just dressed up fer the Costume Ball. By the time May 28th showed up-awe were kinda fed up, so we took off for beyond the hills and parts unknown. Didn't get very far, had to turn back 'cause we couldn't go any further. Of course this school leavin' was legal. On account of the dry spell we've been havin', we must pull up stakes. and leave to hunt for greener pastures and more fertile grounds. even after all of our joyful moments and happy endings here.
