Senior Diary - - F R E S H M A N lfrightened and timid, we drug ourselves into the open arms and smiling faces of the initiating Sophomores. But to our amazement. these Sophs were acl tually human. and believed in the Democratic way of life. XYe all enjoyed a pleas- ant evening' dancing anddrinking. tSoft, that isj. To show our appreciation, we favored them with an equally amiable party the following month. Hn Day, no Freshmen were seen trudging up the trail, with minds intent upon whitening-up the dingy L . This tragedy was due to the war, which was still in full progress. SOPHOTVORE This year we rated ourselves equal to the Seniors, although they didn't think we were so big. We greeted the Frosh with an odd sort of initiation. A lovely scavenge' hunt helped to de-wind the vociferous kiddies. .X surprising change came over our class this year. Instead of the usual hide-and-seek games at noon, we became a little more refined and intellectual. Vie were determined to better those horrid grades still visible in our minds from last year. XYe took part in all activities open to us, and went all out to do our bes' JFNIOI? Now with the title of upperclassmen, we were out to show what we really could do. Mid that we did. Hur bovs shined the day of the inter-class track meet. They held the lead all the way through, and the victory was theirs. Hur play. Creeping Shadows , although embedded in a deep mystery. was surrounded in a web of humor which kept the audience in stitches. lfai1'ylancl , land of enchantment, was the theme of our prom. Realistic decorations.. which included fairies, pixies, lollypops. etc., made it very successful. This has been an active and happy year so far. SENIOR Thi- year, as is literally traditional, we really feel important. just as if the school belonged to us. Hur play, So Help Me , was claimed one of the best because of its un- u-zualness. ,X full house greeted both performances. The break! On March 27, the Seniors invaded Santa Barbara. A simply drippy day was enjoyed by all. During the course ot the evening, a choice banquet dinner was served at Elmer's, after which most of us went to Santa Barbara High Schools presentation of the comic opera, Robin Hoodn. Uthers attended th' wrestling matches and movies. .Xud now, dear old Alma Mater, we sadly depart from your moldy, con- demned lzuildings with only the memory to cherish for the rest of our lives. to T
