SENIOR DIARY FRES H M A N YEA R 'l'here we were, 90 of us entering high school together. .-Xnd what a glorious day it was. Of course, during the year we underwent the usual course of mis- haps which marks the advent of a new class. XVe cleaned the L -how this was done and by whom will be left in otbscurity. The freshmen initiation was fun-for the sophomores and we all enjoyed the return party. 5Ul.'llOlNlURE YEAR XYe re-entered school the September of 1941 in a very much tamer state of mind than the year before. X'Ve gave the annual sophomore dance in the form of an lfaster liunny Ball. Our class took part in many school activities. .IUNIUR YEAR Hur junior year was a great success. We presented Hold Everything lo an overflowing house on December 4. 'l'hen in the spring we honored the Seniors with the Prom. XVe all had a lovely evening of dancing to soft music in a Chinese garden by the dim lights of Chinese lanterns. SENIOR YEAR .Xlways through our high school years we have had our battles, mostly between the boys and the girls and in Miss Green's lfnglish class. llowevcr, with our beloved teacher's help, we have come out on top tit's the girls this yearj. A-Ns always, we've had a grand time. We Fly Away Home two nights and had a wonderful time doing it. Une of the great days of the year was senior llitch Day. Now there are 36 ot us leaving the doors of training together.

I, l'hyllis Campbell, do hereby will and bequeath my tallness to Tommy Alcfall so he can play 'the part of an adult in plays, and to Mary Lou Hen- derson and Beverly Ainsworth my abil- ity to get to class so they won't be embarrassed or afraid to confess when they meet Mr. Ilull. Ambition: To travel and make friends throughout the country. Ambition: To exchange my school books for a cook book. I, Frances Ann Collier, do hereby will and bequeath my commando tactics to Minnie Belle Hoover, knowing that if she profits by them like I have she will indeed be able to defend herself against all obstacles. Ambition: To wait patiently and see who gets married first, Betty Clark or Phyllis Campbell. lIere's hoping they have a double wedding so they won't argue any more. I, Haraldine Friis, being of sound mind and body, will to my sister .Ioan- sine my ability to be late all the time when I had Miss Green as my first period teacher. Ambition: To finish school and do defense work and put part of my wages into bonds to keep ammunition rolling to my brother, Iiarl, who is in the US. Navy. I, Doris Gilliam, being of infantile mind and miniature body, hereby will and bequeath my irresponsible and inex- perienced age to any of the Lompoc lligh School' modern sages. Ambition: To finish college and make my ambitions real. I, Eileen Grossini, being of solid mind and body, do hereby will and bequeath my rosy cheeks and sweet temper to Wilma Armstrong, knowing she will profit by it in the future. Ambition: To lose my temper. I, Darlene Guggenmos, being of sound mind and body, do hereby bequeath my ability to collect slips without disturbing the whole school to Barbara Gates, knowing that she will profit by this great gift of skill. Ambition: That is the question. Wie, jim Hoag and Earl Bailey, be- ing of , do hereby will our sixth period gym class to brother john Sudden A. B. T., hoping that it will aid him in seeing as much of Lompoc Valley and surronding country as it has us. Ambition: ???? I, Dick Hooker, will my common sense to .loc Milligan, hoping he will not look tor a bottle of vacuum again. Ambition: To be a race driver or test pilot.
