We ask that you thank all parents and patronize these businesses for their support of the ARIMOL. As editor of the 1986-1987 Arimol I want to thank everyone who has worked so very hard to make this year’s book truly one of the best. I especial- ly want to thank those that did the jobs of others as well as their own. Putting a book together such as our Arimol takes a lot of hard work and dedi- cation. This year’s staff, especially our Seniors, have demonstrated that quality. I'd like to extend a special thanks to Gina Weyer and Gina Mangan who have made the photography and art work of this book outstanding. I wish all future editors and staffs the best of luck with future ARIMOLAS. To the graduating class of 1987 I wish you happiness in all you do and hope this leaves you with fond memories of vour last year at Lomira High School. Best of Luck! Langenecker, M. Rose BAFFLED BADGERETTES Badger State is a week long event which the Badger girls attended at Madison, August 8-14, and the Badger boys attended at Ripon, August 14-21, to learn more about the government and how the state is run. Three students were chosen from the Lomira area and two students were chosen from the Theresa area by the teachers, to participate in both Boy’s Badger state and Girl’s Badger state. Michelle Ehlers and Troy Hoepner were chosen from the Theresa area and Wendy Gygax. Steve Langenecker. and Mark Rose were chosen from the Lomira area. If Michelle or Troy would have been unable to attend Colette Kuchl and Scott Pastorius would have. If Wendy, Mark, and Steve would have been unable to attend Pam Reindcrs or Todd Phillips would have attended in their place. During the week, a mock government was set up to elect Badger State representatives for city, county, and state government. Each city and county having a chosen name. Steve Langenecker was elected to the Register of Deeds for the County of Doolit- tle, Mark Rose was elected as Deputy Sheriff, and Troy Hoepner was elected Alderman of Peck City. At Madison. Wendy Gygax was elected Alderman of Spruce City and Michelle Ehlers was elected on the County Board of Supervisors and a mem- ber of the Police and Fire Commission. The highlight of the week for the boys was the tour of the Ripon Good Cookie Factory. The highlights of the girls’ week at Madison were going to State Street, working in the capital, and touring the Governor’s mansion. At the end of both weeks Governor Earl inagurated the elected Governors of each Badger State. RESTRICTED REPS. 29 Seniors Sabine M. C. Wibin Glenn T. Zamzow Douglas J. Her American sisters are Jean and Sue Reische. Sabine has said how different school is in Belgium. The classes are much harder compared to here and you can’t choose what classes you want to take. Sports are not a part of the school, but rather a sep- arate club. Sabine has already graduated in Belgium and plans to go to a Universi- ty when she returns home. Sabine comes from a family of an older brother and sister, and a younger brother who is still living at home. In Belgium, you can drive at 18 and also drink. It is also common for a group of friends to go out rather than just a cou- ple. We all hope you’ve had a great year here, Sabine! Judy Sardinha, our other foreign ex- change student, is from Castries, St. Lu- cia. Her American sister is Tricia Muehlius. Judy has commented how very differ- ent school is in St. Lucia from here. At her school, you must wear a uniform to school. High school students aren’t into sports as much as here either. School work is also much harder in St. Lucia, but most people graduate at the age of 16 there. In St. Lucia it is also common for a group of friends to go out, instead of couples. St. Lucia has no set drinking age, and people are allowed to drive at the age of 16. We all hope you’ve enjoyed your AFS year here, Judy! 34 AFS student: Judy Sardinha, Host: Tricia Muehlius Row 1: (L to R) J. Sardinha. K. Hayes, M. Hilt, S. Ruenger. M. Thelen, J. Martin, S.
