To LHS students, he is more than a janitor. He is the guy that has been our friend. Howie has been around when we have those little emergencies--------forgotten school books, instruments, mittens, coats . . . Howie is the guy who brightens the day for many of us with his humor. He's also the guy who has so graciously opened the door for us during Arimol meetings. In closing, we'd like to extend a warm thank you for being a big part of our years at Lomira High School. The Lomira High School Class of 1977 THE 1977 UN-ARIMOL UNEDITORS Being co-editor of the 1977 Arimol has been a great challenge, but also a very rewarding experience. Being able to help make a book that can bring back memories of an important time of our lives is a great feeling. I hope that this year's book will bring back all of these memories that each one of us have had. We have tried to cover the moments of happiness, sadness, frustration, silliness, and seriousness. I have been able to work with a terrific staff. I'd like to thank all of them who have been so dedicated and have worked many hours. Without our advisor, Mr. Alger, our book would be almost nonexistent. He has spent many hours with us helping to make our book what it is. In thanking everyone who has helped to make our yearbook what it is, I would like to thank all of you, the student body. You are what makes our book. My year as 1977 Arimol co-editor was one of mixed emotions. I believe that experience and the end product were all worth it. We had a marvelous and hard working staff who made this year's book possible. My training began during my junior year and continued on through the summer when Cheryl Peters and I put the 1976 Summer Supplement together. We learned a lot and had fun doing it. Thanks for your help and dedication, Pete! Just a note to future co-editors: Arimol is a wonderfully gratifying experience. Remember to be patient with your staff. We are all around to learn a technique of putting a great book together. Make the most of your position as co-editor and good luck with your books! Memories I'll never forget . . . It's been a great experience and an even greater year. I'd like to also say thanks to everyone who purchased an Arimol because without YOU I never would have had this very sat- isfying year. V E S SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY We are God's angels, Gabrielle and Tobias. Recently, we've been checking in on the Class of 1977. They are doing many various things. Let's see what we've got to report. As we approach this year's Olympics, we see a great U.S. runner streaking to a gold medal. His name: JOHN SAMPSON. Another athletically inclined individual fresh out of the University of Oshkosh is LORI UNFERTH. She is head coach of the U.S. women. Bringing spiritual guidance to the U.S. team is DEB PAHL. A distinguished member of the U.S. cheering section is JILL RUECKER , who has traveled across continental Europe in her van. Also in Europe, we find our Class of '77 nurses at a convention in Germany. NANCY ADELMEYER has come from Russia; TINA MEDLEY from England; DEBBIE UNFERTH from Canada; CAROL BREIT from Lomira's Hope Nurs- ing Home; PATTI RIES from Switzerland; and GERIANN KUECHLER straight from Utah, where she is Donny Os- mond's personal nurse. Our world nurses meet former classmate, MARY BOWEN, who is visiting friends. Staying in Europe, we find GREG CZEKAY, as a French chef. His restaurant is visited by three old friends, bilingual teacher, TODD JACOBSON with ED KRAHN and MARK HERMAN who are on leave from the Air Force. Back in Theresa, Wisconsin, we find BRIAN ERDMANN as a Baker Canning Company foreman. Drawing his adver- tising cartoons is LUCY SCHNEITER. Supplying Baker's with their crops is ANITA HOLST and her husband. LESIA FIELD is the part-time nurse at Baker's and at the world famous Byron Hospital. Here, LAURA STEINBARTH is employed as head medical secretary. In Lomira, we find KATHY FERGUSON teaching the studious little monsters. Helping to relieve the children's hypertension is the Physical Education teacher, MARK ENDER LE. Lomira's kindergarten teacher is MARGARET MUEHLIUS. Hepling her control the monsters are LUCY GESCHKE and ANNE PABLE. Straining the young one's vocal chords is PAMELA SMITH as their devoted teacher. Working in the Special Education department are CAR- LEEN GUELL and JOAN SC HARSC HMIDT. Also doing her part for education is DENICE STRASSMAN, teaching the second grade. Her helper is DARLENE ADELMEYER. Lomira is once more adding to it's high school. This year's distinguished architect is PAUL HANKE. Taking care of construction and maintenance is KEVIN BUERGER and his Buerger Builders. Head electrician is JIM HOEPNER. Chief carpenters are KEVIN STERNAT and JEFF NEITZEL. Kevin's secretary is VAL FREDRICK. Paul has designed a very deep swimming pool so that SCOTT SCHEBER L can teach scuba diving. One of Scott's helpers at his diving store is DAVE FEILBACH. From our last report, Dave is making a bundle. Taking care of the accounting is KEN QUALMAN. Teaching in the new addition is MARY HESPRICH at Computer Science and DENISE GUELL in Agri- culture. Covering the Lomira addition project are SCOTT GESCHKE as a journalist and VICKY PLZAK, his photo- grapher. They are employed by TIME magazine. Four Lomira-based truck drivers, making millions, are JAY RAWLINS, JEFF KUEN, MIKE HAEFS, and LARRY VANDE SLUNT. They are traveling to Las Vegas to attend a benefit performed by HEIDI HAYES. She is enter- taining U.S. troops which include two other Lomira graduates. They are JACKIE BAG LEY, in the Navy, and KAREN LEEMON in the Air Force. Heading Michels Pipeline as president is PAT MICHELS. His vice-president is SCOTT NEHLS. Also working there are PAM KINDSCHUH as an accountant and JANICE SCHNEIDER and KATHY WENINGER as secretaries. Flooding the car market with new Dodges is WAYDE BECK with the help of top mechanics, LARRY NEITZEL and ROGER GIESE. Wayde's two main competitors are CHERYL PETERS in the Byron Gremlin business with mechanics TERRY STEFFEN and PAT STERR. In Lomira is MARY CHRISTIAN who sells Pontiacs and has ROBERT VAN DORT and JODY STEGER as mechanics. Getting ready for the married life are KIM ZELLER and DENISE SCHNEIDER. Doing their hair for the grand occasion will be BONNIE JUSTMANN and MARY PRIESGEN. Taking care of the floral arrangements are DARCY GRAF and SANDY FORSTER. Providing the rings will be Smith Jewelers, run by ALAN SMITH. Manager for Alan is DAN LAMB, with JULIE ZAMZOW designing the rings. MARVIN GIESE, working for John Deere, is busy making repairs for farmers STEVE WESSING, WAYNE WU LFF, and DAN MICHELS. Also working for John Deere is DAWN ZIELICKE as head secretary. Going to school and furthering their education are BOB SCHAEFER and GARY STOFFEL. BRIAN BODDEN, DAVE KEDINGER, JEFF HINOJOSA, and JEFF BAUER are delivering milk from their dairy farms to Grande Cheese Company where ROGER STRASSMAN is working. Busting her brains as a data processor is SHERI PETRI, working for Texas Instruments. She resides near CINDY PUL- LAM, also in Dallas, Texas. One of Dallas's prized social workers is DIANE KUECHLER. The running pace car for this year's Indy 500 is DAVE OWENS. Behind Dave are the famous Lomira drivers, BARRY STERR, MICKEY GRANTMAN, and RANDY LUCKOW. Turning wrenches for the drivers are PAT EMMER, DAVE 26 LOEHRKE, and ALAN KOENIGS. Doing the race announcing is KAY SAMPSON. We ve found the members of the Class of 1977 doing many various things. We hope that they are happy and continue to be so. But our story does not end until we let GLEN GIESE express what we believe to be the wish of most Seniors in the Class of 1977. His desire, I WANT TO BE FREE. 27 AMERICANS ABROAD As I sit here forcing myself to write something and reflecting on my experiences, I gaze out the window at a single star, imagining its significance in God's creation and knowing that someone on the other side of the earth can see that exact star and is experi- encing the same thoughts I'm having. Maybe that's the most wonderful thing I've learned; all people have thoughts and have an existence just like mine. Maybe your existence is not a traumatic revelation upon the earth, but it is important. All people experience the same rising and setting sun, rain showers, snow, and tears. Everybody eats, and yes-they do eat food. It may be horse, or snails, or octopus, but it allows them to survive. My experience as an AFS student is over, but yet, I'm not dead. I've got a long life ahead of me. I'm going to continue living, with a wide perception of life. But most of all, I'm going to keep in touch with a beautiful family in France who I love and call my own. As an Americans Abroad student this past summer to Brasil, I had the greatest experience in a different country that I ever imagined. I never thought that in two and a half months I could come to love a country and its people so much. My family was just so super-fantastic! I love them in a special way, just like my family here, in the states. Being able to meet people of a different country and to experi- ence their life and language is the best way to learn about a country. The times I spent in Brasil will never be forgotten by myself and my family here and there. I hope that future students will take this same opportunity and use it for the greatest learning experi- ence in my life. I would like to say one last thing and that is to remember this wherever you may go and whoever you may meet: A smile is the same in every language. c Occu 97Q MY FAMILY LESIA 28 s ram an o(pjar and ida vw- UaJt and Kmwi f[a ruyy-and Q-jM 31 SUMMER BREEZE See the curtains hangin' in the window In the evenin' on a Friday night. Blowin through the jasmine of my mind. See the paper lying on the sidewalk. A little music from the house next door. So I walk on up to the doorstep Through the screen, and across the floor. Sweet days of summer. The jasmine's in bloom. July is dressed up, and playing her tune. And I come home from a hard day's work, And your're waiting there, not a care in the world. See the smile waiting in the kitchen. Food's cookin' and the plates for two. Feel the arms that reach out to hold me. In the evening when the day is through. IF YOU LEAVE ME If you leave me now, you'll take away the biggest part of me. Baby, please don't go. And if you leave me now, you'll take away the very heart of me, No, baby please don't go, I just want you to stay. A love like ours is love that's hard to find. How could we let it slip away? We've come too far to leave it all behind. How could we end it all this way? When tomorrow comes and we both regret The things we said today. 33 HOMECOMING WEEK 34 THE BABY KING MARK ENDERLE HOMECOMING 1976 FRIDAY NIGHT 35 IF YOU LEAVE ME NOW KING QUEEN (V 7fltAtMui'l X MILWAUKEE SENTINEL Election Points to Dead Heat OFFICIAL PRESIDENTIAL BALLOT President Ford PUce a cross Xi or other mark in the aquare opposite the name of the candidate for whose elector you desire to vote, or «rote in the name of a candidate in the «pace provided Vote in ONE aquare only see JIMMY CARTER President i Democratic □ WALTER MONDALE Vice President J GERALDR FORD President | Republican □ ROBERT 1)01 £ ... Even though there are only a few members, we try to keep the ecology attitude alive. So far this year it hasn't been possible for us to do as much as we would have liked, but we intend to change this. Our first ac- tivity for the year is to clean out Mr. Al- ger's fish tank (it really needs it!). The Ecology Club is planning to help clean up the community which will make it a bet- ter place to live, but we can't do this alone. Everyone should do their part to keep the enviornment clean. 77 M.
