As we glance back over this year's work in Loma Linda Union Academy, many pleasant happenings are recalled. This year has been occupied with various things of interest and profit. Not only has the school increased in numbers, but also a fine spirit of Christian growth and devotion has been manifested. The students for the most part have carried on their Work in a strong Way with faith in God and confidence in His guidance. It is not possible for us to measure the total accomplishments of this year nor can We compute the full extent of our short-comings. We are grateful for the continued blessings of heaven upon our Work here. May this school year have been such a significant contribution to each one that We will resolve to make the most of our opportunities and share in the rewards of the final triumph. xllnllim: wi- .E-mfaunssq-m...v.W.i,. tttii ' ' This Is the Star .70I'elU0l' To assist the students to re-live their school days, to recall the pictures hung in memory's hall, and to acquaint our friends with the activities of the stu- dent body of Loma Linda Academy is the aim of the fourth issue of the Lomasphere. May This is Your Life add to the joy of the Seniors of l952, promote true school spirit in the under-classmen and enable our readers to better appreciate the standards of Christian schools. 'Tis the voice from the past that resounds in our ears, And old memories wake at its tone, Coming back, like a dream, from the slumbering years, With the scenes that have faded and gone, The home of our childhood, where fancy still strays, And the friends we had known there so well Come again, with a vision of sunshiny days, At the sound of the old school bell. The little stone school-house that stood on the hill, And the yard where we gathered at play, The meadows beyond, and the murmuring rill Flowing out to the Woods far away, The solemn school-room, where we labored to learn, CThere omniscience fabled to dwelll, Our teacher and playmates-all seemed to return At the sound of the old school bell. 'Neath the trees heedless sport had inscribed with our names Light of heart, we would joyously swing, And together We'd play those familiar old games Till we heard the impatient bell ring, But when lessons were over, then happy and tree, We would roam to some neighboring dell Where the echoes that doubled our laughter and glee, Brought no sound ot the old school bell. -T.
