i Z. N I 1 Ghz Gale of the Cattler There once lived two old gentlemen, Fast friends as ere could be. Who lived on products of the pen, From prose to poetry. I spoke of two and I shall tell In chronological form, How fate these two old men befell, To take a town by storm. Chalk up a mark for number one. Dick Steele,-and I trow, The words that from his pen did run, Could cause an awful row The second member of this clique Was Addison fJoe for shortb Who from a word however weak A meaning could extort They met one day in London town And at Dicks 1nsti.':ation Commenced their work to gain renown In dual collaboration Now you can tell as well as I That from such company Would come something that would defy The world mdefinltelv It did there came from these great minds A Tatler and you see The name inscribed in our books bind Just missed 1t by a T Said Dick, My Tatler'll ue'er be beat, 'Tis the first one too. he said, Alas! All things must taste defeat, Though once they may have led. And so just like Nap Bonaparte Met his grand Waterloo, The Ta,tler did the lead depart For Tattler number two. 'Twas made in nineteen twenty-eight, This Tattler number two. It wiped the first one od the slate Of history and too It had qu1te an extensive staff That worked both hard and long To put the cost at only half The axlomatical son! Dave Allen was the gazeteer Who led this great success For brains they say he has no Deer In all of L H S The business end was managed well By willful Tony Horn Who worked to the last sons: of the be 1 At night and early morn And over all from the dim dead Dast A spirit thats true and real Has haunted the staff from first to last The spirit of Richard Steele It 55:- 1 Leslie Meyers -eg, 4'1- 'ik-an fr- I I ff V - f'..-'53 fum 'illlln 3 - X 5 I ef 4 - Q- -- 1.4 - - I A -,, E' ull .JBBUII If -:vm P I f lar the L llll ,N :wo E 5'5f-311 I Hint 7' 1' .f:3f'v-fs A 9f3XYsQqfvwv-r'-vi 51 use M Wo.
