LOGAN 05 CAMPION I8 In a field of gummy mud and water, the Campion Knights defeated the Logannaires, i8 to O. The Campion eleven marched to their first touchdown after they recovered a Logan fumble on the Red and White 30 yard marker. Campion increased the margin to twelve points with a second quarter scoring thrust. The Logannaires threatened only once, traveling from their own 40 to the Knight's l9 yard stripe, where they lost the ball on downs. ln the fourth quarter a Red and White pass fell into the arms of a Campionite who raced to the last score of the contest. Rain greatly hampered the Logan passing attack. LOGAN 0: CHIPPEWA FALLS O Both Logan and Chippewa Falls drove to their opponents' one yard line, but neither could push the pigskin across for a score. The Logannaires and the Cardinals lost scoring opportunities because of fumbles. Logan's first drive canoe late in the second period when Ferries, Brown, and Meyer took the oval to the Chippewa six yard line, but the half ended be- fore the Red and White could rinq up a tally. Chippewa opened the fourth canto by driving almost to the Redman's goal but a fumble, recovered by Briggs, put an end to the threat. The Logan- naires then pushed to the Cardinal's one where a fumble by Meyers ended the scoring attempts of each aggregation. LOGAN 6: MASON CITY 0 ln the final game of the l94l season the Logannaires sunk Mason City to the tune of 6 to O. The gridiron was a sea of mud and the entire struggle took place in a pouring rain. Played hefore a handful of spectators, a punting duel with Dave Ferries doing a nifty job for the Red and White, occupied most of the game time. In the fourth quarter Mason City fumbled deep in its own territory and guard Dick Briggs recovered for Logan, From here suc- cessive plunoes by fullback Meyer, who literally floated across the pay stripe, gave the 'Wisconsin eleven its final victory.
