LOGAN 75 WINONA 2 Logan returned to the win column with a 7-2 victory over Winona at Logan field. The Nibbemen dominated most of the play and were threatened only once. The winning touchdown came in the first quarter when Ferries traveled from the Orange and Black thirty-five yard stripe to the twenty- seven and then threw a short pass to Meyer who carried the oval to pay dirt. Meyer place-kicked the extra point. Winona's tally came in the third quarter when Ferries was smothered behind his own goal for a safety and two points. The Redmen easily out-gained the Minnesota eleven, Zi O yards to 30 yards. LOGAN 197 CENTRAL 7 Over four thousand football fans crowded into the T. C. field to see the Logannaires wallop their traditional Southside rival, Central, l9 to 7. The northside eleven threw very few passes, but its power through the line was terrific. The Red and White line outcharged its opponents thoroughly throughout the contest and provided the margin of victory. The Red and Black opened the scoring with a touchdown in the first four minutes of play. Tikal went through tackle for a fifty yard sprint to the end zone, and Kroner added the extra point. Well into the second period, the Logannaire steam roller began to move. Meyer, Ferries. and Brown iugged the oval from the Logan 47 to pay dirt, Meyer scoring. Central led 7-6 at the half. Ken Brown sparked a third period thrust and scored from the Central twenty. Central's passing game then began to click, and it went to the Logan 22 yard noarker where Selbo intercepted a Cooper pass to end the scoring threat. The Redmen again turned on the power, and Ferries scored on a lO yard jaunf. to end an 80 yard blitzkrieg. Thel 'ctory returned to Logan the Ark of Victory symbol of Logan- Central f hall supremacy.
