Page lO Crzmclcll. ..i:s... Dingln-mlm-iii. Slim-liluii,v.l-. Nlvm l-lallguides ISITORS to the lumber camps were not allowed to go into a cutting area without permission of the foreman. ln Logan today, visitors are not allowed to walk around the building without a pe-rn'it from the office. But who is to see that this rule is observed? This is just one of the duties of the hallguide. I-le must also direct traffic and see that no student is in the halls without a pass. Logan's democratic hallguide organization was be- gun, as its constitution states, for the purpose of fostering cooperation among the students, hallf guides, and facultv. A Board of Directors meets with the captains twice a week when practical solutions are sought for problems, Mr. E. A. Saenger, the faculty advisor, has done a great deal in the last year to make the organization function smoothly. Ilricksiiii. D. lfi-rrirs. Illiinl Run' . Nlxirlnu- I run! The Of- fice Pages are busy from morning till eve- ning, checking absentee lists, sorting the faculty's mail, and carrying passes to their destination. The only duty of the lumber- jack messenger was to bring food to the men in the far away forest. This group, under the guidance of Miss Vera McDonald and Mrs. Thomas Knutson, has a dual purpose. First, it provids helpers for the office secretary, and second it gives girls training in elementary office procedure. During their membership in this organiz- ation they learn to follow directions, to al- phabetize, to file, and to meet people. They also learn to work together and to share duties and responsibilities. Page l I
