Student Council N the lumber camps of the early logging days, there was no idea of self- government. The lumberjacks did everything under the command of the foreman. The idea of more self-government is expressed by the Student Council. The preamble of the constitution states its purpose with these words, To foster a spirit of cooperation among students and faculty, and to develop good citizens through experience in government. The student council was reorganized three years ago, with Mr. Spears as advisor, and is an important part of the students' activities and interests at Logan. Interest in this organization has increased greatly and many accomp- lishments have been made during the past year. For the first time members of the council were selected by petition, and officers were chosen by a school-wide election under the newly-adopted constitution. Some of the outstanding committees of the council are the Constitu- tional, Corridor Traffic, Lawn, Bicycle, Lost and Found, Assembly, and Bul- letin Board Committee. The titles of these committees suggest the type of work in which the Student Council is interested. EXECUTIVE BOARD Trip Run' fR. l ltzp:1trirlQ, YV. Kzxtcllul, V. Pxlllcrsu Hucfm'l'. fron! Nlvm l-lallguides ISITORS to the lumber camps were not allowed to go into a cutting area without permission of the foreman. ln Logan today, visitors are not allowed to walk around the building without a pe-rn'it from the office. But who is to see that this rule is observed? This is just one of the duties of the hallguide. I-le must also direct traffic and see that no student is in the halls without a pass. Logan's democratic hallguide organization was be- gun, as its constitution states, for the purpose of fostering cooperation among the students, hallf guides, and facultv. A Board of Directors meets with the captains twice a week when practical solutions are sought for problems, Mr. E. A. Saenger, the faculty advisor, has done a great deal in the last year to make the organization function smoothly. Ilricksiiii. D. lfi-rrirs. Illiinl Run' . Nlxirlnu- I run!
