Two events stand out in our memory of our freshman year. Our four ninth grade Christmas parties and our visit to the Reid Gold Mine. Considering all things, we had a successful term. When we became sophornores our pupils had decreased to 72 ln this year we were all proud oi Flora Ingram who won the Miss Tigerette crown Our band received their first unifornis in this year 1950 and went to Washington to march in the Safety Patrol Parade Edward Lawing William Boger Elzavan Plunkett Margaret Miller Berlyn Goodman Mary Troy Murphy Betty Roddy and Mary Clarke were among the striking paraders Fortunately we started ourjunior year under the same instructors we had in our sophomore year Mr Banner and Miss Edwards We had a lot of work to do besides our academic work because we were to give the seniors a prom which we did and with much success We were the first class to have an orchestra at a Junior Senior prom We were also the first class to tnaugurate Sadie Hawkins Day which was planned by the class reporter Troy DeBose Billy Smith was the most outstanding player in the basketball tournament he brought home two trophies and one certificate Margaret Asbury won the 1 Speak for Democracy contest and Mary Frances Caldwell won the .Tumor Orator ical contest Last but not least our chief marshals for the graduating class were Loretta Johnson and Mary Caldwell Again we had a successful year In September 1952 the class registered for the final surge toward graduation under the leader ship of Mrs E O James On Saturday October 4 we were invited to A 81 T College in Greensboro N C We were entertained to the highest and we enjoyed ourselves immensely With Robert Anderson as our president we feel that we have climbed successfully to the last step of the ladder We love this year best of all because it means so much to us all Farewell dear Logan we will never forget you and your guardianship We will try with all our ability to represent you well wherever success we go and we will never forget that Nothing succeeds like Curtis Phifer Q X -gin X ff X . . . . , . . . . . . . . . . . . , . , . . y . .
