He was elected vice-presi- dent of his sophomore class and Student Coun- cil re resentative his junior year. Rodlger has lettered in at least one sport dur- ing each Tyear of high school. He has partici- pated in ootball four years, basketball four years, track two years and golf for two years. He played in the school band his freshman and sophomore years and was a member of the choir his sophomore and junior lylears. Rodger was a mem er of the play cast 's junior year. Rodger Van Loenen - Mr. LHS, 1973-74. Sandra Pakkebier's enthusiastic spirit and outgoing personality were the most evident in her position as cheerleader, which she held throughout her. four years of high school. Sandra's involvement in Kayettes throughout high school led her to serve as Recreation Director her senior year. Twice she was elected to represent her class on Student Coun- cil . Her freshman class elected her vice-presi- dent and she served as junior class treasurer. Sandra was a four year member of band and a two year member of honor band. Her musical achievements led her to being selected for both Lions State and International Bands. She was a four year member of choir. QfUCOfH066S Annual ' The Student Council planned a 'Misty' evening for the annual Christmas Formal December 15. 1973. Eyes did seem to grow misty when Rodger Van Loenen and Sandra Pakkebier were named Mr. and Miss LHS for 1973- 74 by Howard Siler. Program introductions were made by emcees Shayne Hutchinson and Rod Boys. Fields of Joy was sung by a junior ensemble and accompanied by Karen Jackson. Bill Becker sang the theme song, Misty , while the Royal Couple and Court danced. Pterodactyl, a rock group, provided music for the dance which followed the coronatron ceremonies. TOP: King Rodger Van Loe- nen crowns Queen Sandra Pakkebier. Royal attend- ants are Rex Smith, Paula Romjue, Tony Richardson, Kate Rundle , Paul Gram- mon, Nancy Zink, Mike Patterson, and Marla Rom- jue. Junior attendants are Jeff Hofaker and Colleen Butler. RIGHT: Couples dance to the music of Pterodactyl.
