swab Paws Physical fitness is as important to the well-rounded individual as mental growth and social adjustment. LHS offers three courses which give students an opportunity to build physical fitness and learn some social sports on a non-competitive basis during three of their four years in high school. New to the physical education program this year was sophomore phys. ed. for one semester taught by Ken Hanson. Sophomores took advantage of the swimming pool during the warm fall days, then moved indoors to learn tennis, handball, and tram- poline techniques. Karl Skinner, Ken Hanson, and Bob Sebbert have combined their efforts to teach the required fresh- man health and physical education class. Mr. Skin- ner works with the boys in the gym , Mr. Sebbert with the girls, and Mr. Hanson teaches the health portion. Juniors and seniors can enroll in advanced phys. ed. which includes learning swimming, tennis, handball, badminton, trampoline, volleyball, and basketball.
