' ls Vitalfahja The LHS curriculum includes several English and language courses. Steven Robbins teaches three English classes in which he emphasizes the study of literature, drama, and grammar. He also teaches a current affairs class which stresses the events of today: and an Amer- ican History class where students research the impact of historical events. Sue ouse , a three year LHS teacher, offers Spanish I and II and instructs one section of English I. Audrey Getty, forensics coach, teaches English II and V, Speech l and II, and psychology. New to the faculty and a new de art- ment for the curriculum is Mike Lellining and Level Ill and IV Special Education. Mr. Lehning holds a Master's degree in special education from Emporia State Teachers College. He refers to his area as an opportunity room where those students who ave various learning problems can progress at their own rate without the stigma of competition for grades. Marie Hogan teaches special reading in both Logan and Prairie V1ew. The classes are designed to broaden the students' vocabulary and reading proficiency.
