The carnival was quite successful due to the efforts of the sponsors, the PMA and the Ath- letic Association, and the cooperation of the entire student body. ggzaasfzfing kgs .Queen Homecoming is one of the most exciting events of the school year. The question of who the cpeen will be is asked weeks be- fore the big moment. On the evening that Logan defeated Onawa 6-0, Lorraine Col- lins was presented as Homecoming Queen of 1954. As her attendants, Elaine Myer and Marcella Karsten looked on while Gale Mux- feldt, captain of the football team, crowned the qieen. Pauline Stentz, Homecoming Queen of 1953, presented each girl with a beautiful bouquet. That afternoon the homecoming parade of high school floats made its usual way to the city park. At the pep meeting the three winning floats were presented with trophies. The FHA float was chosen as being the out- standing one of the parade. Second place went to the sophomores' graveyard scene. Prediction that the game would be a cinch for Logan was the theme of the float which won third prize for the freshmen.
