On November 24 and 25, our class play, Old Doc , was presented with Jim Ascough and Phyllis Enochs playing the leading roles. As we eagerly struggled through last-minute schedule changes, final credit checks and guidance conferences, there wasalso the excitement of receiving our class rings. For the first time in L.H.S. history all seniors didn't have to cram for semester exams, for students with a B average were exempt. We took our long -awaited sneak day on April 30, followed by one of the out- standing events of the year, the Junior-Sen- ior Prom on May 14. Our final exams rolled around on May 18 and 19. After the election of class officers our class sponsors, headed by Mr. Stinebiser and Miss Metz, helped us in planning our activities. In the fall we sponsored the Junior Class Carnivaland the Costume Ball. Later two of our most colorful events were the class play, Star- dust , directed by Mrs. Juergensmeyer, and the Min- strel Parade , staged by Mr. Orr. Highlighting all of our projects, the Junior-Senior Prom took place in the newrecreation center at Holden on May i4. In a rose- garden setting complete with flowers, trellises, a blue ceiling, and a grand march, plus the dreamy music of George Charles and his orchestra, this proved aperfect climax to an active year. Prom-trotters glide to a smooth number while Mr. Stover gets a few pointers. Seated on their pedestal of hon- or are the Junior Carnival King and Queen, Vaughn Myers and Donna Richardson, who have been crowned by smiling Mayor Litz Cuz McGuire. Crown bearers are Kathy Browning and Louise Harmon, attendants are Henrietta Alderman, Nora Ragland, Bill Cooksey, and Kenneth Queen. HMINSTREL PARADE, a twelve-scene minstrel revue directed by Mr. Crr, provided two wonder- ful hours of entertainment complete with Chorus, Commentators, and Male Ensemble. The large cast of characters included the following leads: End men - Roddy Hall, Jim Ferrell, Jim Curry, and Jim Coolcp lnterlocutor - Jim Ascough, Soloists - Jim Tucker, Pat Roberts, Ray Tomblin, Frieda Steele, and Gwen Martin, Dancer - Richard McDonaldg Andyand Mandy - Carter Counts and Doris Fields. John BraFford's orchestra played the entire musical score from the opening chorus to the grand finale plus some specialties. Characters in Uncle Tom'sCab- in - Scene IV - were Marks U, Varacallij, Harriett U, Cooky, Eliza qP. McDormanj, Eva KR. Whitey, Tom QE. Meadey, Ophe- 1iafL. Millerj, and Simon Legree U. Kellyj. Gruesome. . . . . .. Green... 0l'i'l0I'e5 Lowly and insignificant, we are the sophomores of Logan High. During our green year those diabol- ical seniors often sent us on wild errands, told us to ride a non-existent elevator, and gave us fantastic directions. Sophomore Day followed our entrance, and the seniors had more of their so-called fun. We wore Li'l Abner and Daisy Mae costumes, passed out suckers and bubble gum, and obeyed every senior whim. All year we faithfully used the sophomore doors and dutifully waited for the third bell. One bright spot of the year was our one-act play, Say, Uncle. There is one consolation--next year we will return as iuniors and other green sophs will take our place. and Grovelingl 108 0,9 0711, ored Abbott Glorla Abshlre Thelma Adams Francls Adams Rosemary Adams Wood row Adkms Betty Adk1ns B1lly Adklns Bobby Adklns C10 v1s Adkms Gaytha Adklns Lanora Ad kms Lloyd Adklns M e lvln Adklns Patty Adk1ns Rodney Adklns T1ny Akers Paul Al brlght Dollle Allen Nola Amburgey Jewell Armstrong Barbara Ashley, Delmar Aude Mmdy Bahus Delores Barley Glance Balley Ronrue Ba1sden Glenn Ba1sden JoAnn Ba1sden Raymond Baker Helen Baldwrn Gold1e Baldwxn Lonola Barber F r a n k Basadre Delores Bates John Bayless Llnda Belcher Chrxstlne Belcher Vesta Bell Larry Bell Roberta Black Vernon Blankenshlp Dons Blankenshxp Helen Blevms Ronald Bocook, V1rg1n1a Bodnar Barbara Borders Dallas Bowen Brenda Bowen Emma Bowen Glen Bowen Glenwood Bowen Helen Bowker Robert Boytek Josephine Bradshaw Ted Bragg Shlrley Brewer, B111 B r e w s te r Charles Brooks Bobby 'DIS- 'Y' Z' ,gk ng -357 'O It 'if .gn If 112 ails Lf 4.0- '56, 'S la.: NT!
