Sammy Adkins l-lead Senior Sponsor ..., , , Mrs, l-lelen l-larvey Sophomore year there was their class play Cannibal Queenu: the choosing of Betty Casto and Johnnie Mae Cook as class cheerleaders: and the memorable Sophomore Day. The Junior year was a busy one. On October lo, l948, the annual Junior Carnival was held at which Bonnie Boschian was elected queen. All the activities lor the remainder at the year were but anti- climaxes ta the big event ol the year-the Junior Prom. This class has the honor ol electing the tirst Prom Queen in the history ot Logan's Proms-Betty Casto. The day ol May 2Oth was a bevy ol activity as the tireless Juniors rushed about getting the gym decorated tor the Prom, Mission accomplished! a weary but happy Junior class triumphed! Alas! Seniors! Surely now they have topped the heights with easy grace ! Many members ol the class were rewarded tor superb ehcort during this last year ol their high school days. David l-lale was an- nounced as valedictorian, Wanda Chapman, salutatorian, end Dorothy Jean White, honarian: Joey Disco given recognition in basketball on the allftournament team at Morgantown: Johnny Caldwell awarded a lootball scholarship by the Boosters Club-the tirst one oi its kind to be awarded by a Logan group: Ruth Ashworth elected editor of Guyana : David l-lale, editor ot l lere's l-low : Carla Bitte recog- nized as a poet in W'est Virginia Anthology ot Student Poetryu: June Lucas chosen as Miss Logan l-ligh: tour-star Thespian awards to Betty Casto, Mary Jane Pinson, Glenn Koch, Hermie McGuire, Jimmy White, Betty Leigh Young, and Bill Giles: and the science award to Glen Koch. This class saw the addition ot a visual aid program at Logan in which the efforts ol John Risko, our proiector operator are to be commended. Finally with the ordering ot caps and gowns, class rings, an- nouncements and presenting ol their class play Under Twenty on March lo-at last, comes Baccalaureate and Commencement. For- ward!
