Kent Soderquist Art Loran Hirschi Auto Mechanics Dianne Hall Business Alene Hansen Business Peggy Christensen Business Robert McAllister Electronics Marketing has added depth to the Business Department this year. The class taught Marketing and Distribution with the career aim of management. All of the members of the two marketing classes belong to the DECA Chapter. Class members have done advertising campaigns, set up displays for local merchants, attended shoplifting clinics, arranged field trips to speciality area retail stores, and scheduled many guest speakers throughout the year. DECA sponsored a community dance at the Cache Valley Mall and sent students to DECA Western Regional Leadership Conference, and the State DECA Leadership Conference. BUSY is the word for DECA. Members and FUN is the by-product. Having experienced construction of a house, assembling radios, and repairing automobiles, students in the LHS Industrial Arts Department have been enriched by capable teachers who involved them in industry and on-the-job training. This year has been exciting for the LHS Social Studies department. Their curriculum was changed to quarter classes with the additon of new courses such as Law, Sociology, Consumer Education, and 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s and Futurism. Field trips included a visit to a small claims court, a local jail, a prison, and a mortuary. Students participated in comparative shopping and also rode with a policeman on duty. They organized and took part in a mock presidential election and scheduled discussions with a polygraph examiner and an F.B.l. agent.
