SOCIAL STUDIES Should Logan City get sued for the negligence which resulted in the death of Wayne Estes? Seniors taking American Government have to reach the verdict in a simulated court case. Government students also hold mock legislatures and conduct public opinion polls. Psychology students take time out from school to visit the state mental hospital and the state prison. They also perform many exciting experiments such as rat conditioning, personality profiles. What an electrifying experience' Is he still alive. Doctor”? SCIENCE A goldfish frozen in liquid air mysteriously comes back to life! Chemistry and physics classes really abound with excellent classroom demonstrations. Some of these look spectacular and intriguing. Some make you wonder whether you can believe your own eyes. Biology, botany, chemistry, physics, and zoology all have good laboratory programs. In these labs students can learn by doing. Labs also add variety to classes. The independent student not desiring teacher help or direction enjoys these individualized experiments immensely. Some students who go on to further training in certain fields need science more than English and mathematics. Many others get ideas about possible vocations. These students took geometry at the Junior High and they can take calculus during their senior year While senior math students memorize pi to thirty-five decimal places, advanced algebra students stare at a single problem for hours, only to find that the correct equation exists somewhere beyond their reach. For students interested in a business career. business math and data processing teach math as used in everyday life, besides teaching the mathematics needed in business. While other departments improve their facilities, teaching methods and curriculum, the Math department strives to improve their students.
