Published by the Associated Students of Logan High School Logan, Utah Beth Thompson, Editor Suzanne Spencer, Associate Editor Mrs. Jerri Facer, Advisor Mrs. Lois Petty, Advisor Steed's Printing Plate Company, Composition J. P. Smith Son, Printing Max E. Brunson, Photography The purpose of a yearbook is to refelect on the year gone by. It brings back memories of those exciting football games, that special dance and the fun and the work of being a club member. For seniors it is a last look at their school, and for sophomores it is a reminder of what is to come. But most of all it is a symbol of Logan High and all it has meant to 1,000 students for one whole year. May this yearbook help you to reflect back on some of the great times you have had at Logan High, and remind you of the year 1969 - 70. A former student of Mrs. Tingey once said, I have never learned more from anyone in my life. This has not been said by one student but by many. It has been Mrs. Tingey who has taught everything from rhetorical principles to Milton. Her knowledge and understanding of not only English, but of math and speech have made her a valuable and important part of Logan High. Mrs. Tingey had a deep concern for her students. She wants them to learn and has spent many years of her life in furthering the educational standards of Logan High. With sadness and deep appreciation we realize that this will be Mrs. Tingey's last year at Logan High. We, and the many students before us give a grateful thank you os she leaves the halls of Logan High. Mrs. Tingey once said that if one thing could be said of her she wished it would be that she was a person of wisdom. The Yearbook Staff of 1969-70 dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. Tingey and her wisdom. These are fust a few comments made about Coach Lewis by his team. This year Coach Lewis made a winning team out of what was thought to be a loosing team. He gained respect from his players and the studentbody. Logan High is truly lucky to have Coach Lewis. After a disappointing start they rallied, with pride and determination to bottle back and win second place in the division and a respectable won-loss record. The experience they had along with the friendships they made will be cherished for a lifetime. The example of dedication and hordwork set by the football team of 1969 will remain forever an inspiration to teams that follow. Once more the spirit and pride of the Logan High football team has set the stage for a very successful year. Coach Boyer, Coach Lewis and Coach Wilson were in charge of Varsity and Junior Varsity football. 88 89 The Varsity team had a winning year with a 4-3 record. Under the direction of head coach Hal Lewis the Logan Grizzlies took second in region, and once again displayed Logan High spirit and pride. Managers and Trainers were: Jeff Bateson, Stan Murray, Jerry Nelson, David Dixon, Steve Christensen, and Steve Croshaw. 94 Logon and Sky View Logan and Sky View 95 Logan and Roy Cinderella, darkhorse, underdog, surprising, were words used by many this year to describe the Logan Grizzlies' basketball team. They were not supposed to win many games, and especially not the region championship, but they did. How? That is the question. To the Logan High students and fans it was obvious because the ingredients of a championship team were present all the time. Desire, dedication, ability, attitude, and tradition; another group of words which have always been associated with Logan High was the reason. It was a pleasure to watch this team each week os the pressure was mounting rise to the challenge and come out winners in every way. They extended a Logan High School win streak to a region record of 22 over a three year period, they won another region championship and most of all they gave their best effort to a positive program designed to build men. They also gave future athletes at Logan High a tremendous goal to aim for, that of doing more than is expected. Congratulations to all concerned with the program, and especially those young men most responsible, the dedicated team mates. Coach Tueller is not only a great basketball coach, but also a great guy. Through his hard work Logan High has another winning season. Seniors have seen Coach Tueller take three teams to state. Basketball teams and state games have become a part of Logan High tradition.
