Friday evening, at the Logan- Waverly basketball game in the LHS auditorium was the climax of a long week of voting and anticipa- tion by eleven lucky girls and the entire student body. The balloting began Monday in homeroom when senior nominated the girl of their Liz Gloyd Crowned Queen After the eleven nominees were chosen, the senior class members were given the opportunity to cast their votes. When these votes were tabulated five nervous girls re- mained. They were Julie LindsayF j l£lizabeth Gloyd. The Music Makers! Being a part of the L.H.S. mar- ching and concert bands just isn’t enough for some band members. These band members also par- ticipate in Pep Band and or Dance Band. These two groups are made up of instrumental music students who enjoy performing for- the public. The Pep Band performed for all 1. Dance Band member. Steve Maniskas stands up ready to play his solo. |bk) 2. Greg Daugherty and Doug Carr. Dance Band bass players intently watch their music, (bk) 3. Sophomore Keith Price plays cymbols for another rowdie Pep Band tune, (dc) of the home basketball games and all of the pep assemblies held throughout the year. They con- sisted of interested marching band members with the best overall scores. Mr. Dave Sellars directed the group that was very successful in bringing out the spirit in everybody. The Dance Band consisted of 20 members. All members for the Dance Band were chosen by audi- tion. Mr. Al Horsky directed the group. The group entertained the Kiwanis for Valentine's Day, per- formed for the student body in April, and held their annual con- cert in the spring. Their jazz, pop, and rock tunes were always well performed. 20 Student Life Tracy Bell
