BUSINESS CLUB Of the many prosperous clubs here at LHS, one of the few especially outstanding ones is the Business Club, under the direction of Mrs. Barbara Peterson. The girls in the club are students of the business courses each one striving to make their futures in the business world a little brighter. The Business Club is very active within itself — it has elected of- ficers. with Leeann Lemon as president; Debbie Redd, vice- president; Shelly Davis, secretary; Teri Petrella, treasurer. There is also a news reporter, Chris McDowell, and Dixie Huffman is the photographer. The club has done many rewar- ding activities during the course of the year, including taking a tour of the Ohio University — Lancaster branch and Hocking Tech's secretarial departments, they sold posters and keychains very suc- cessfully, making over $600, plus many bakesales and a couple dances. But not everything the entire year was all Business for the club. They spent time on things to have fun also. At Christmas, they held a gift exchange, and in honor of Secretaries Day, the club bought all Senior High school secretaries and all of the business students flowers. For all of the effort the girls put into their work, at the end of the year an awards banquet is held to reward the girls who have the best speed, accuracy, production, etc. Each girl puts a great amount of pride and effort into their business work and the work they do in the Business Club is a fine example of their desire to become top-notch in their field.
