1980 HOMECOMING QUEEN CROWNED The football game between Logan and Ironton was the setting for the crowning of the 1980-81 Homecoming Queen. As her name was announced, last year’s queen. Marty Weis, crowned Wendy Weller as the new queen. Wendy was escorted by Matt Mara, and her court consisted of Top five candidates for queen were: Cindy Dennis. Ethel Vanezalos. Tracey Bell. Wen- dy Weller, and Laura Hackney. 12 Student Life Troy Hoke. Suzanne Frazier Tracy Bell, escorted by R. D. Woltz; Cindy Dennis, escorted by Mike Schrader; Laura Hackney, escorted by Dave Berry; and Ethel Vanezalos, escorted by Roger Thompson. The five girls were nominated by the student body and then voted on. The surprise and hap- piness was evident on Wendy's face when her name was announce ed, and being the ever-grateful queen, she thanked her parents and the student body for their support. Logan was defeated by Ironton, but Wendy's coronation added a happy spark to the night.

Give It All Ya’ Got!!! Give it all ya’ got! This phrase or theme could have been heard throughout band camp, practices, performances, contests, and throughout the air of the Logan Hill School bandroom. Led by directors A1 Horskey, and assistants Dave Sellars, and Gwen Gallagher the band provided another year of joyous entertain- ment on and off the field by giving it their all! The band consisted of 86 members and 5 majorettes. Ma- jorettes included Debbie Hood, head-majorette; and line ma- jorettes Julie Sheline, Laura Hackney. Ethel Vanezalos, and Tammy Harbarger. Practice for band members began in late July. During these practices officers for the year were elected. Elected were Jeff North, president; Pam Hoffman, vice- president; Terri Fife, secretary; and jane Ann Devol, treasurer. The duties of the officers included organizing various activities, and speaking for fellow band members. During the month of August many hours of practice were spent for the upcoming marching season. The band made their season debut at the Parade of the Hills in] Nelsonville, Ohio. After the school year began, practices were held oni Tuesday and Thursday evenings. I After the marching season was! completed in November, band] members began to prepare fori concert performances. They held' two concerts and participated in District and State Contests] throughout the winter and spring] months.
