F.F.A. BIG ATL.H.S. The Chief Logan Chapter of the Future Farmers of American is one of the largest and most successful organizations at Logan High School. There are 60 Vocational Agriculture students in the F.F.A.. and Mr. Fred Walter acts as ad- visor. The officers of the F.F.A. are: President. Dick Ogle; Vice- president. Mike Starner; Secretary. David Sheets: Treasurer. Terry Barlow; Reporter. Tim Anderson; Sentinel. David Canter; Student Advisor. Troy Smith; Chaplin, Rodney Watkins; and ]oe Skinner serves as the Treasurer for the 14th district. The F.F.A. is an organization made up of Vocational agriculture students. Vocational Agriculture is a course designed to provide students training in five major areas. These five areas are animal science, plant and soil science, shop, farm business management, and personal development. Students are taught skills which will be valuable in helping them to enter a career in the vast agricultural complex. The F.F.A. serves as an extension to the classroom to provide the students with the opportunity to further develop their skills through judg- ing. public speaking, parliamen- tary procedure, and community service. Students in the F.F.A. are re- quired to maintain a home project. This is important in helping students apply what they learn in the classroom and to keep and use their records accurately. This will aid them in making management decisions. The F.F.A. participates in many activities. The members of the F.F.A. take part in timber cruising contests, livestock judging, parliamentary procedure contests along with countless other ac- tivities. Selling citrus fruit is our chapter's main money making pro-J ject. This year, the citrus fruit sales brought in about 1.000 dollars. Many students are beginning td recognize and take advantage of the opportunities offered through! the F.F.A. what it is today. The! Chief Logan Chapter of the Future!
