The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” Logan High School suffered a very real loss in the passing of Mr. Griffin. He was respected and revered through his ministry in the work of the Lord. He was endeared to the hearts of his students and remembered for his honesty, sincerity, and dependability. His students will always remember him for his cheerful, helpful attitude toward them and their work. Deri Oberlin, vice-president; F. W. The defense earned their salt by intercepting two B.H.S passes. LOGAN 12, HILLIARD 28 Although Logan was much improved over the Bexley game, we still couldn’t muster any consistency against the Wildcats big line. Kemper and Poston scored for Logan. Poston scored when he recovered a fumble and raced 82 yards for the TD. LOGAN 0, ATHENS 6 Again Logan’s offense had a rough time getting started. The Chiefs had one scoring threat stopped short by one foot. LOGAN 14, POMEROY 0 The Chiefs sloshed through the rain and mud to attain their second shutout. Terry Nelson was Logan’s offensive standout, gaining 115 yards and getting one TD. Logan also unveiled a secret weapon, place kicker Bob Daubenmier who kicked both extra points. LOGAN 7, GALLIPOLIS 14 All of the scoring was packed into the second quarter. Our own mistakes beat us, having three fumbles lost and one pass intercepted. Poston returned a kickoff 82 yards for our only TD. LOGAN 7, WELLSTON 6 This time Logan capitalized on fumbles, the first one setting up Logan’s only TD with Kemper scoring from the one yard line, and “Golden Toe” Daubenmier kicking the game’s deciding extra point. LOGAN 48, MIDDLEPORT 6 The L.H.S. offense put its best effort to roll over the outclassed Middies. Logan had four TD passes, and each to Westfall, Bartow, Conrad, and Parry. Hansley, Kemper and West each got a TD by rushing. Daubenmier got five extra points, and Westfall got two. LOGAN 13, JACKSON 8 Brad Brady, after throwing two TD passes in the M.H.S. game, passed a 75 yard TD bomb to Gary Bartow with only 1:28 to go, winning the game. Logan’s first score followed a Bartow intercep- tion with John Hansley passing to Westfall for the TD and Daubenmier booting the extra points. LOGAN 14, NELSON VILLE 0 The last game of the season proved to be one of Logan's best played games. Hansley and West both got TD’s with Kemper adding the extra points. 81 82 83 DANNY BAUMAN SENIOR CHIEFS Tri-Captain BILL WESTFALL LEO FELL All S.E.O.A.L. end, first team All District end, first team All Ohio Honorable Mention A.P. and U.P.I.
