Purpose of the 1962 Aerial: The purpose of the 1962 Aerial is to present with words and pictures the activities and events of the school year. Since the Aerial is celebrating its Fiftieth Anniversary, we have tried to weave a touch of nostalgia into the year's happenings. THEN AND NOW Fifty years have passed since the first Aerial Staff struggled to meet its deadlines and fulfill its duties. Perhaps they rushed to the meetings in the Tin Lizzie ' avoiding horse-drawn carriages in the dirt roads. Middy blouses, pleated skirts, knickers, and long socks typified the teen attire. Today's staff tumbles into the highpowered Rod and races to the meeting, avoiding pedestrians and slower vehicles. Sweaters, slacks, sweat shirts, and blue jeans now complete the casual wardrobe of today's youth. Although the pace and appearance attributed to the student of fifty years ago has changed, the goals they sought are ours today. 3
