AN ABSTRACT OF L.H.S In the autumn when the leaves begin to turn, many sounds echo from the school on the hill. These sounds indicate the new surge of academic and social life engulfing Logan High. The clatter of metal cleats on the cement steps and the crash of colliding football helmets promise excitement of lively battles. The muffled voices of the teachers resound through the halls as they try to acquaint the pupil with the facts of their subject. On winter nights, the auditorium vibrates with the sound of basketballs as they swish through the net and thump against the floor. The cheerleaders' rustling pom-poms arouse the enthusiasm of the crowds during football and basketball seasons. On any after- noon of the school year, one can hear the thud of books and the metallic ring of the lockers as the students prepare to leave the building. Many nights the pounding gavel commands the attention of the students who return to participate in extra-curricular activities. As one scans the pages of the 1962 Aerial, these familiar sights and sounds will be recalled. 9
