The Logan Elm Braves compiled a very impressive record for the season. The Braves were both humble winners and gracious losers. The team aroused much interest and enthusiasm which was shown by the support of many loyal fans. Being one of the top eight teams in the state is one of the honors which the Braves earned. Because of this fine team , Logan Elm is known as the Home of the Braves . On April 23, 1962, the second annual basket- ball banquet Was held to honor the Braves. The event, sponsored by the Booster Club, was held in the gym to accommodate the huge crowds that follow famed jerry Lucas, our guest speaker. On the program, as one of the anticipated moments, was the presentation of the special awards. This year they were given as follows: Gary Hardman . .Most improved player Dave Horn .... Most improved player Danny Hicks .... Leading rebounder Chuck Spangler. . Most valuable player 56
