A Captain Commander W. R. Hartman, U. S. Navy Commander Willard R. l-IARTMAN, U.S. Navy, assumed command of the U.S.S. LOFBERG 7DD 7597 on 8 September 7962. He was f7rst commissioned in June 7946 as a graduate of the U.S, Naval Academy class of 7947, and has since that time served in various units of both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets. His shipboard duties include assignments in various departments of f7ve different 2200 ton Destroyers, on Essex class Carrier, and one guided missile Frigate, U.S.S. COONTZ 7DLG 9l. Additional duties include service on the Staff of Commander Operational Test and Evaluation Force, Detachment, Key West, Florida, GHG' attendance at the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School as a st d t ' h I u en in t e Ordnance Engineering curriculum, graduating in June 7967 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. Commander HARTMAN is married to the former Miss Margaret Printy of Centerville, Iowa. The couple was married in May 7947 and have f7ve children. His family residence is established in San Diego, California, the homeport of the LOFBERG. Commander HARTMAN has been awarded the following campaign and service medals , American Defense, World War ll Victory, China Service, European Occupation, Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal.

Executive Officer ' Lieutenant Commander D. G. Scully U. S. Navy LCDP Donald G. SCULLY was born in Westhampton Beach, Long Island, New York on T5 December 1924. l-le enlisted in the U.S. Navy in November T942 serving in the Atlantic and the Pacific as a Signalman, Upon discharge in TQ48, he entered the US. Merchant Marine serving as third mate for Cities Service Oil Company. In T953 LCDR SCULLY returned to the U.S. Navy and has served in the following capacities, COMLCUDIV 24, First Lieutenant USS FRONTIER lAD-25l, Operations Officer USS LYMAN K, SWENSON lDD-754i and Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Communications at Taiwan Defense Command prior to joining the USS LOFBEPG lDD 759i LCDP SCULLY is married to the former Suea G. LARSON of Westhampton Beach. The couple was married in T957 and have four children. LCDR SCULLY has been awarded the following campaign ribbons and service medals: Navy Good Conduct Medal, American, European and Asiatic Theatre, World War ll Victory Medal, China Service Medal, Occupation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and Philippine Presidential Unit Citation. ,
