The following year Mrs. Browning tried to follow in the footsteps of Miss Williams. Martha Stuckey, Herbert Cooper and Don jameyson joined us. Miss Grimm, our third grade teacher, wel- comed us along with a new girl, joan Warner. We all arrived in the fourth grade with smil- ing faces. We were saddened to find that at the end of the year we were to lose Martha Stuckey. Miss Morton taught us here. We flew into the 5th grade where Miss Kip- linger was waiting with a smiling face. Don jameyson left us and john Moss joined us. ln the sixth grade Mrs. Harmon supervised us in collecting sales tax stamps for pictures and a radio. Our new classmates, Lorene Pope and Dale Franks came to help us on our new project. Ivan Dague left us. The next year we were quite proud to know that all of us reached the 7th grade. Although we were very green, Miss Webb, our advisor, helped lead the way for us. ln the eighth grade Mrs. Schafer greeted us. She tried to tame us down with her ruler and detention slips, but we got away with a lot. Martha Stuckey joined us again this year. We must have been very trying in the ninth grade. We had two advisors: Coach Dohonas and Mrs. Snell. The new students were- Stanton Love and Bill McCure. Bill was here for only two months at the end of the year. At the Fall Fair that year we won lst place for our float. l guess we're just hillbillies after all. In our sophomore year Mr. Wright encour- aged us in our endeavors and keptus cheerful with his lively jokes. For our class project we sold emblems and jackets. A new member arrived whose name was Fairy johnson. Our junior year has finally arrived. We met our new teacher, Mr. Baker. I don't think any of us will ever forget our junior year. We had several new students-Evelyn Hall, Charles Snell, and Charlotte Grim. They helped us in putting on our successful play, lt's Never Too Late, under the direction of Mrs. Eastman. We sold basketball pencils and made a success of the football stand, also had two scrap-drives. The biggest event of our junior year was the junior-Senior Banquet at the Springvalley Country Club on the 18th of April. HURRAH!! We are finally Seniors and are in our biggest and last year. Although we had previously missed out in having Mr. Weagraff, we finally got him this year to our great surprise. A Good Egg, under the direction of Miss Sechrist, was a booming success for the Senior class. Ivan Dague, Bill McClure, Martha Stuckey Underwood joined us again in our final year. fi vi, ei 5 5 Q 5 Last Will and Testament of The Class of 1953 We, the class of 1953, in twenty and one distinct parts, being of sound mind and memories, do make and publish this, our last will and testament. Dale Frank wills his Dodge to anyone who thinks they can afford the up-keep on fenders. Corky Miller wills his ability to keep out of trouble to lack Gossard, who seems to have a pretty good start already. Besides these bequeaths we leave our best wishes to any and all who desire them. In witness whereof, we, the Class of l953, the estator, have set our hand and seal this 3rd day of Iune in the ye ar of 1953. I. M. Nuts U. R. Crazy Kilroy Class Prophecy Dear Fred, I have a few spare moments from my escort service and thought I would write you a few lines. We had a big party last week. All the members of 53 were present except you. I read in the paper where you expanded your automobile business into a Hot-Rod Shop. We are happy you're doing so well in San Francisco. Martha Underwood was there with her dozen kids. They always say Cheaper By The Dozen. Patty Ginter was helping her run after the brats. Patty now runs the We change it, powder it, watch it, Diaper Service. Charles Scott furnished the food since he runs the Dried Up Stale Food Co. Working for Scotty is Charlie Snell, Connoisseur of Fine Tobaccos. Dick Lefty Roberts is baseball coach of the Tidy Misses College For Young Women. He's assisted by Dale Frank who bandages ankles, knees and any sore spots. What a life! Iohn Moss is now running a Turkish bath for Overweight Women. Charlotte Grim lost one pound in three months. Where she lost it I donit know. Ivan Dague, the prominent nuclear physi- cist, has just finished his book, The Atom and l. Every home should have one. I-Ie also is working on the last step of his experiment, Non-sticking Bubble gum. His advice is, Don't chew it. Stanton Love is now head of a big airline which operates between Lodi and Congress. There has been no increase in the personnel of the airline due to Stan's shyness in popping the question. Corky Miller, as you know bought out Eli Derhammer's Plumbing Business. Cork spe- cializes in leaky pipes and faucets. Martha Lawton is now having a romance with Alan Ladd, her leading man in her latest film hit, The Flaming Kiss. We hope this turns out alright since it is her fourth marriage. Don Iameyson is still working at Benson's. He now supervises the opening of all oil cans. The rest of his time is taken up by running Midnite Auto Supply fwhere has he been getting all his latest model hubcaps?l. Prem Sampsel has been going to college for six years now. It seems Prem likes college. Oh! I forgot to tell you Prem is the only boy ever to attend Lassar. Margaret Mosher was there, I'm sure you wouldn't have recognized her with her new hairdo. She now runs the Lodi Dye Shop. She dyes hair any color-but red, that is. If you die she pays all funeral bills. Lorene Pope sure has come up in the world. She has put Lodi on the map by becoming a lady wrestler. Her nickname is Bald Eagle. Maybe they call her that because of her hair- cut fno hairl. Charlotte Grim and Evalyn Hall have just started a school. Evalyn teaches the subject How to Skip School and Get Away With It. Charlotte teaches 'l-low to Make Eyes at Mr. Wood and Get Good Government Grades. We always wondered why Fairy Iohnson was saving her money. She bought herself a Niteclub outside of Lodi. She also is the main feature. She's known as The World's Most Famous Bubble Dancer. Herb Cooper is working as chief bouncer and bartender. He also blows the bubbles. Of course we invited Mr. Weagraff. He couldn't come. It seems his wife had her third set of triplets and it was too much for him, he's recuperating at Massillon. Well, Maynard just came in so I'll have to close. Your classmate, Ioan C 3 CNIORS U Ufigpxclcc SS Me I1 W I unior Class we e '265' O Row 1.
