They have attempted to train you mentally and physically for the great task that lies before you. Looking upon a world that has been torn by wars and strife since l94l, America has invested more and more in its youth, hoping some day that through their educational experiences they may find some of the answers to our problems, But the pessimists among us see only wars and more wars to come. Good will toward the good life seems unattainably idealistic-a platitude rather than a real hope. Yet we in the schools of America must never lose our faith in mankind. Every youth is a potential messiah. They are the raw materials from which we hope to build a new heaven and a new earth in which peace will dwell, and good will toward all men will reign again.
