11 foreword As we think back over the last four years, we remember a great deal about our school life. We all shall be happy to graduate this spring, but we shall also reflect sadly upon leaving four wonderful years, as they are about to close their gates behind us, But not forever: some dark and lonely evening we may be aroused by the sound of a strange, but familiar melody. This flow of music from a thousand strings will ring in our ears, louder and louder, haunting us, stirring something up wildly within us: and then we shall no longer be able to resist it, Suddenly we will be holding the yearbook solemnly, as an old, cherished thing, and we will open it to turn back the pages of time to find some dear memory, lt is not just a book, it is a part of us, a part of our lives. We will review and live once again, for a while, in these aging pages many won- derful moments spent here at Lodi. ln this magic mirror we shall see four years of work, four years of fun, four years of wonderful companion- ship-all included in that golden period of our life-those years at Lodi High School. And as we leave this school, let us take our memories with us in this volume of Magic Casements, for: No matter how far we may go Beyond time, mountain, or sea, No barrier will be strong enough To hold back the train of mem'ry. l ll pg-.L X T5 5-I
