Many of them laid down their lives in the belief that the sacrifice they were making would bring peace and progress to a world enveloped in hatred, selfishness, and ruthlessness. In spite of all the efforts of many governmental agencies, international as well as national, to bring about some order out of chaos, the world again today finds itself on the brink of disaster. You who are about to leave Lodi High School must be unflagging in your efforts to help bring quiet and tranquillity to the peoples of the world. Each of you can further this fight by holding uppermost in your minds those ideals which the American way of life instills in each of us: loyalty to country and fellow man, courage to meet the tasks which our country's leaders set for us, and love and respect for each individual, no matter of what race, color, or creed. l have confidence that you will not be found lacking!
