His desire and willingness to share the joys and sorrows of the students and faculty have proven worthwhile. As a teacher, he was helpful and cooperative at all times -as an administrator, Mr, Gaciofano has been a constant source of inspira- tion and counsel. His friendly smile and pleasant ways have won him the respect of the students at Lodi High School. For your many contributions and for your cooperation in time of need , . . Whether helping a freshman with his Latin translation in the lunchroom or encouraging a senior to continue his education, Mr. Maggese shows his sincerity and eagerness to aid students. To you, Mr. Maggese, who have understood and so ably coped with our many problems . , , We, the Class of 1948, are proud to dedicate this our yearbook. amz' QW. Cwzzggexe l. A Qywfufe MR. LOUIS A. MARCH AS WE recall the many years which have passed, we realize now how much a part of our Alma Mater Mr. March was. We who knew him will remem- ber him as a man of stately dignity and a genuine sense of humor. ' His forceful energy, which was ever apparent in all his undertakings, was infused in those who worked with him. Mr, March's willingness to give readily and take suggestions made him an outstanding leader and companion to the students of Lodi High. For these admirable virtues and ,for his straightforward sincerity, we, the Class of '48, proudly pay tribute to Mr. March and wish him the best of luck in his new field of endeavor. 8 Y, mf? ff 3 fs.. -2 ja if Q A fm 'QCKC '5 ? Qffesxage As members of the Class of i948 complete their secondary education, they move into a world which is not only staggering from the harrowing experiences of a global war, but also struggling to regain its economic equilibrium, a basic factor essential for attainment of peace. They will assume stations of life in a dynamic society in which events of the greatest magnitude occur at a rate that we can scarcely comprehend. ln a large measure, a momentous taskxthat lies ahead for them is the responsibility of helping to make a new world. Through training and experiences within their compre- hension, they have learned in a vital way the importance and desirability of our American way of life. By applying the wisdom of their observations, they can attain their rightful heritage of a democratic and liberty-loving nation. Like their predecessors, however, they will face the ever-present problem of bridging the gap between ideals on the one hand and current practices on the other. lt is heartening, nevertheless, to observe that they are properly equipped to play their part in that challenging ll A. H, DELLA PENTA work which lies before them, for when they leave this school, they will take with them open-mindedness, sin- cerity of purpose, a keen sense of responsibility, and the ability to meet intelligently the problems which may confront them. The dynamic moments of history always open up new frontiers of opportunity. Theirs are the unparalleled op- portunities to build a more harmonious and productive world on a basis sounder and more permanent than men have ever known. By exercising faith, tolerance, and wis- dom, they cannot help enjoying the full realization of their potentialities. The world of the future will be their world. Regardless of the field they may enter or the position they may hold, if their lives are characterized by honesty, courage, and sympathy, they will carry the banner of human progress to the highest pinnacle of civilization. l extend my sincerest congratulations to the Class of l948. ,ll I' Guidance Dhedo MR A. During this peaceful summer, Bunny, the eldest daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Bartlett, kept things from being monotonous by having her friends visit. One of her friends, Jessica Atwood, a sophisticated siren, nearly ruined Bunny's father's chances of getting a contract from Mrs. Phelps, a contractor's wife, who was also visiting the Bartletts. To add to it, she nearly caused Bunny and Steve Henderson, Bunny's beau, to part. However, in the end everything turned out well, for Bunny realized that she should stop imitating her friends, and that she also had a mind of her own. To prove this to her parents she introduced her best friend for life, Steve Henderson, A ,V what AMERICAN GIRL Typical High School Girl HELEN GREMBOWIEC HARPER'S BAZAAR Best Dressed ED JANUSZ ROBERTA TOSCAINO RED BOOK Most Bashtul ED JANUSZ MARIE BRANCATO SEVENTEEN Class Flirts MARTIN INFANTE LILLIAN HECHT ASTROLOGY Dreamers JOE BRUNACKI JUNE DAALDER COMPANION Class Pals IBoysI NICK TORRE MIKE SEPEDE Class Pals IGirlsI JOAN JOHNSTON HELEN PLIHAL NEWSWEEK Chatterbox KEN PARMI NILLAM I NA WOUWENBURG FORTUNE Most Likely to Succeed ANDREW FEDERICO VIRGINIA KOZLER AMERICAN BOY Typical High School Boy MIKE SANTIMAURO DOWNBEAT Best Dancers HARRY BURNS NORMA TOCI CHARM Winning Smile BOB REMBISH ROSE CONTI VARSITY Most Athletic ANDY GALLOPO HELEN GREMBOWIEC PHYSICAL CULTURE Best Physique ROMEO MINICHETTI RUTH MEKITA MUTT AND JEFF Tallest IBoyI RAY ZANESKI Shortest IGirlI BETTY DePAOLO 'inf TRUE ROMANCE Class Couple JACK BULMER ELEANOR MCDONALD CAN YOU TOP THIS?
