There was a rally which couldn't have had more pep, the traditional parade with Mr, Niemann starting it all as Parade Marshal, and a dance where the students danced until the very last note was played by the selected band Triquest , And our team upheld our theme song If You Leave Me Now by winning their first game of that season 6-0, We'll always remember the good times we had and what a little effort really can do, If You Leave Nle Now N X NSE .X '5S5S5l:5l?F fx:--ax N- ' xx-Q-3 x x x 'N -'-N 7 --- I Orange you glad you used Dial? ii Creating the winning window. ,AVF X -wwqfii 1976 Homecoming Court SKI TRIP This year in early February the Downhill Ski Club and Nordic Club will be taking a trip to Northern Michigan for a weekend of skiing fun, Last year they stayed at Olympia Village, a training camp for American Olympic hopefuls, There were old-fashioned cabins to sleep in, a rustic lodge with a stone fire place, and perhaps best of all a slippery, snowy innertubing slope which some skiers will never forget and always feel, This year they will probably enjoy many of the same things they did last year: warm fires, innertubes, hot saunas, cold snow, loud screams, sore muscles, funny-looking back rubs, snowballs, popcorn, and sunshine, For the first time the Nordic Club and their advisor, Mr. Lucho, will be joining the downhill skiers, Going slow, beauty and peace is their way of spending a winter day, We think Mr, Van Den Huevel deserves a special thanks for organizing these trips and promoting a healthy winter sport, , Q X Q ,-- V LODIAN STAFF wr Wssxgg Row 1: R, Beck, J. I hope that the bringing of my past knowledge and experiences to the students of Lodi Junior-Senior High School has in some way enhanced their preparation for life and will help sendl them out into society better equipped to function in their day to day existence. It is my challenge to you to go forward with great enthusiasm to face and hopefully help solve the problems facing all people of the world. Robert White Vice-Principal Paul J. Rosandick B.S. U.W. River Falls M.S. U.W. Madison Division of Special Services High school is much more than a building where students go to take courses. High school is a once in a lifetime experience. It is an emotional and intel- lectual mixing of people: student and student, teacher and student, coach and athlete, club advisor and club member. This once in a lifetime experi- ence will be remembered a whole lifetime. One will always recall what one's life was like in high school. As in any human experience, such as high school, the outcome will be determined to a great extent by what attitude one approaches that human experience. The choice to be negative or positive is really up to the student. The choice to be a spectator or a participant is really up to the student. The best way to get the most out of this once in a lifetime experience is to be a positive participant. John Reinhold Principal I si I am pleased and proud to be given the opportunity to write something for this, your senior annual. This annual is the record of the Lodi class of 1977, and I am happy that you are giving me this chance to share a part of it. Your record is an excellent one. You have prepared yourselves well for what lies ahead. And what lies ahead is truly a country of unlimited opportunity. It is still true of America that one can go as far as his amibition and efforts will take him. I urge you to remember that just as this school has been your home for the past four years, it will continue to be your home and we want you to come back to visit us every chance you get. I wish you all the very best of good luck and Godspeed. John Sa uerberg Superintendent s is Bill Maselter Martin Jenich 5.5. Univ'-Wig. WECEP B.S., M.S. The Lodi Blue Devils placed first in the Capitol Conference. It was a fast pace season with Lodi fighting for the title with rivals Waunakee 84 Poynette. It was decided who would be the champs when Lodi defeated Verona. Their quality is clearly shown with the final record of 11 wins and 3 losses. Lodi was fortunate to have an experienced team, a team who worked together for the same goal We lost many fine Seniors at the end of the season. We would like to honor them by listing their names and positions. We think the club and their advisors, Mr. Wieland and Mr. Dettwiler, deserve some recognition and thanks for getting a game program together for football, basketball, and wrestling. They do many other things for our athletic games, including giving up their time for selling tickets. Because of their efforts, and the efforts of all the members of the Letterman's Club, the Lodi community and students are able to enjoy our high school athletic activities much more. To these people we give our thanks. IMC STAFF Row 1: K. Meander, C. Koenig, T. Olson, B. Oyen, J. Donovan, M. Heimbecker, C. Schmidt, S. Briggs, S. Beutler, S. Meander, R. Bushie Row 2: S. As representatives of our student body we have tried to live up to this simple motto in the understanding of any tasks set before us this year. There were times when we both would have liked to give up the whole show, but somehow we managed to get through it all and the results have proved to be rewarding. Despite the hurdles, these have been exciting jobs which enabled us to meet and work with many new people. The student council has set their goals high this year and we feel we have accomplished much more than in the past--even though it seems the results are not always immediately visible. Communication between the students and the student council is still lacking, but at least the doors have begun to open to better representation and voic- ing of opinions. We have been particularly proud of the increasing Lodi Spirit. Activities like our Homecoming this year are the type of thing that students will always rem em ber. The atmosphere of working together provided by these activ- ities are the types of things that make us feel pride in our achievements and Lodi High School itself. No one knows what they can do until they try, we have really found this to be true in the many new things that student council has tried this past year. We have met with many successes but also some failures. We truly hope that future student councils can learn from our failures and build upon our successes, to form a stronger student council. Some of the projects we have worked on this past year are the open campus policy, gripe sessions and the mini- courses. These minicourses were the first of their kind in Lodi and proved to be a great success. In trying to fulfill demanding positions we've received much self-satisfaction. We would truly like to thank everyone for giving us the honor to represent this great student body and for the support you've given us through this past year. mtl' T D i z , vb. They spent hours in preparation and practice to perform at four state contests and, by invitation at the Wisconsin School Board Convention in Milwaukee. They consistently brought home high ratings proving the exceptional caliber of the ensemble. Although ratings were an important part of their existence, they learned from their experiences and their direc- tor, Mr. James Reed, that in playing jazz, or any type of music, your goal is to be prepared, perform at your highest level and let yourself be the judge of how you did. Perhaps the biggest and most exhilarating moment of the season occured January 17, when the Jazz Ensemble re- ceived a standing ovation at the State Board Convention after performing their 'big three Lake Taco, First Class, and Rompin' Stomps, and a few charts aimed at pleasing the older audience members. This and the sense of accomplishment they felt is perhaps the best way this year should be remembered. dododitdoditdododitdoditdooditdododododitdoododitdodooditdododoootditdooditdoditdo , . lg - nh' jk ' WA . ,K A 5 Q i 4 K x- V, N - 1 ., I k . h K K K :vw . - R211 A Q., .K TU, Y 1 -. . - -givin A 5. .N fi' A t .. 5- .-,szggau . Munz LODI SWING CHORUS, CELEBRATION Looking back on this past year of Lodi High School Celebration, we are proud of their many accomplishments. We have seen the evidence of their great dedication in their nu- mberous quality performances, such as the Supershow and the musical West Side Story. This chorus has received consistently high ratings in their competition, and although they didn't quite reach ALL their goals -- we are confident they will continue striving for per- fection. This is a relatively young group, so we are sure to see even greater things in their future. They have an endless amount of enthusiasm which has been reflected in the eyes of all their audiences, whose extreme pleasure was visible. All the members of this group have given of themselves, and sacrificed many hours of their time to make their performances a success. They have learned one of the most impor- tant lessons any group of people in societylcan Ieam -- that is, the lesson of unity and work- ing together. United we will stand, and divided we will faIl. I gf 59 A Q01-712, 1976-77 AFS STUDENT With the advancing technologies, the continents are getting closer and better means of communica- tion bring the many cultures of the world together. Therefore, the peoples of the world should try to un- derstand and accept other cultures and also develop a new understanding of their own. Only this mutual understanding of each other can help to find solutions to the problems of the world by creating a life not against each other, but with each other. As I wanted to exchange a little bit of this understanding of the different, I decided to be an AFS- student. Here in Lodi I could accomplish this with the help of all the people who opened their hears and their houses. For this I thank every one of them. After the year this experience will not be over, but it will live on in our minds. Arnfried Schiller STUDENT COUNCIL Row 1: J. Schmidt, J. Johnson, L. Henthome, P. Brereton, L. Clemens, J. The student council did many things this year. We had a successful candy sale, plus our gripe sessions tried to help relations between students and administration. Our biggest accomplishment this year was the mini-course session, which took a great amount of personal time and effort. Mr. White did an exceptional job of organizing the entire program. Because of the effort and organization, this year's mini-courses were a great success. KING ALAN QUEEN JOANNE 7 1 MEMORIES UF SPECIAL PEOPLE, SPECIAL NIGHTS KING JOHN QUEEN SHERRI I I FU Q.
