Science department gives training in bioloqq and pnqsical sciences. 6.352 C. W. MAYOR, AM. Science A graduate oi Emmanuel Missionary College and the University of Michigan, MR. MAYOR came to Lodi Academy last tall well-qualified to head up the science department ot the school, Surrounded by loul smells, beginning chemists, and frustrated physicists, he works overtime to make his courses beneficial to the youth of this modern, scientific age. Thirty-eight students, such as Alice White and Glen Talbot shown below, tind them- selves busy in his LABORATORY each week, Besides being a physicist, chemist, and biologist, Mr. Mayor this year is also a photographer, microphone mechanic, Sabbath School sponsor, and congenial friend of the students. His hobby is watch repairing in the rare 'lspare moments he has, while Mrs. Mayor enjoys china painting.

harmonious development practicing to be rewarding GEORGE W. WALPER A B Piano L3 accomplished pianist and organist who is new on the academy music faculty this year is MR. WALPER, a graduate of Stetson University in Florida, l-le has also studied at La Sierra Gol- lege and Redlands University, loining the Lodi Academy school family with him are Mrs. Wale per, baby Leslie, and demure Eileen. Going behind the scenes, Mr. Walper is seen Crightl explaining the workings ot the ORGAN in the chapel to one oi his students, Arleen Wied- rick. She, with others, has become a charter member of the American Guild ot Organists' Student Guild. An advanced piano student, Nancy Everett, is shown flower rightl perform- ing at a recital.

But when it comes right down to it, the majority of the students enrolled in the math courses or World history count Mr, Bunch a good friend and an interesting teacher. After all, someone has to 'lcram algebra and geometry down teen-age throats, as one fellow describes it, student below, studying so diligently, is Everett Lohman, who has rated the use of the teachers desk for doing his GEOMETBY assignment. Seen to the right of Everett are Mr, and Mrs. Bunch ready to enjoy their favorite pastime of travel.
